Is a Presidential Inauguration Just a Silly Ceremony?
Canada Free Press (because America has no free press!) ^ | January 10, 2009 | JB Williams

As America prepares to inaugurate Barack Hussein Obama as its next president, despite claims of his constitutional ineligibility and a résumé void of any qualified expertise for such a lofty position, all at such a tumultuous time in history, I found myself searching for historical relevance for such an occasion.

While all of the pomp and circumstance surrounding today’s tradition of ushering in a new Commander-in-Chief often seem like nothing more than trite excuses to throw a grand party, the tradition of seating a new president of the United States is really much more.

And as history has shown, the open question revolves more around how an incoming president rises to the office, than what in his past has prepared him for this moment.

As a life long student of history and American politics, I am convinced that nothing on earth can prepare someone for the position of president of the United States, especially at a time of great turmoil and uncertainty.

Three previous inaugural events come to mind when looking for a good comparison for the 2009 inaugural celebration.

Resident-elect Obama will get the keys to his government housing residence in nine days...

Sadly, not even Justice Roberts will object before he swears a fraud into office.

Well, it’s better than setting fire to cars because the Pistons won the NBA playoffs.

And democratic socialism is better than Lenin's communism. But neither is desirable.

January 20, 2009, will be Lenin’s happiest day since . . . Stalingrad, I suppose.

Much of the world loves socialism and despises American freedom and resulting power. That’s why they love Obama, as he will end American supremacy and reduce the greatest nation on earth to just another starving third world sh*t hole run by Black Panther leftist thugs and criminally insane politicians like Barney Frank...

The resident-elect created new power in a non-office not intended to have any power. Wait till you see what he does with real power...

“Yet unlike Lincoln, Roosevelt and JFK, Barack Obama is a true neophyte in the arena of national politics, national security, economic calamity and global unrest.”

The most important fact in the column...

Basically, yes. A huge waste of money and resources. I read a book several years ago. This guy in the book was elected president. He refused too have the big Inauguration parade, swearing in, parties afterword’s. He was sworn in at the Oval Office and went right too work. He said he was elected to be prez, not party. I thought then, what a great idea. All they are going too do is booze it up, eat, puke and drink more. A massive waste of money. Mountains of security that is paid for by the tax payers. Why, that money could be used for bailouts after all. /sarcasm on that last sentence.
