It will be up to President-elect Barack Obama’s transition team whether Pastor Rick Warren’s prayer at the inauguration is vetted in advance, a spokeswoman for Warren’s Saddleback Church tells CNSNews.com.

The spokeswoman would not say whether Warren would object to having his prayer reviewed or edited in advance by Obama.

“The spokeswoman would not say whether Warren would object to having his prayer reviewed or edited in advance by Obama.”

I hope he objects - does this Kenyan want him or not? Trust him to be respectful or not? Show boating or not? We will see...it would be very disrespectful to “review” a work like this...

Merry Christmas

How do you vet a prayer? To see if there is no conflict as to whom Warren means when he says, “God”?

Interesting. Sort’ve puts Obama on the spot to do the right thing ( or not)

Warren is playing it right thus far in my opinion.
now lets see what Obama does and what Warrens invocation sounds like.

Let those with eyes see and those with ears hear the results.

Well, it is his inauguration. He wouldn’t want someone to mention anything “controversial” unless it’s based in Liberalism. Funny though. What would happen if they reviewed his speech/prayer, approved it, and then he gave something completely different? Would they have someone tackle Warren, or just clench jaws and “endure” it?

I guess "religious speech" is about as close to Christianity as I would go with Rick Warren... For someone in his position to be nearly in opposition to publicly state that Jesus Christ is the only way to God... that isn't much of a Christian. In fact, when I heard that Warren was selected for this, I was not surprised at all. Obama "needed" someone who represents "Christians" to balance out his invitation to the American Gay and Lesbian Band Association for a performance in the inauguration parade (you know the group - one of the regular and popular acts of the annual Decadence Parade - the homosexual "showcase" of debauchery).

And any guesses if the name of Jesus Christ is even used in Warren's speech? I figure Obama won't have to review Warren's words... they won't be threatening to him in any substantial way...

Rick Warren is already one of the most politically correct Pastors out there so I don’t expect him to deliver anything but a politically correct prayer.

In any event, ‘Pastor’ Warren will do as his ‘congregant’ tells him to do beacuse Rick wouldn’t risk losing the ‘attention position’.

If he does not use the words “Jesus Christ” anywhere in his sermon, that will do him in as far as I'm concerned. We can compromise a lot now days but to deny the Lord is out of the question.

Pastor Warren,

Will you obey God rather than men?

Somebody better keep an eye on that Lincoln Bible to make sure it hasn’t been hollowed out and a koran put between the covers. Or will there be a koran on microchip slipped in the pages? I can’t believe there isn’t going to be a koran in there somewhere, somehow.

If B. Hussein is going to let Elizabeth Alexander cite from her uncensored poem, “The Venus Hottentot,” then he should NOT censor Rick Warren. Ms. Alexander’s Venus Hottentot goes like this:

“Her genitalia will float inside a labeled pickling jar . . . “
“Monsieur Cuvier investigates between my legs, poking, prodding . . . “
“Since my own genitals are public I have made other parts private.”

I wouldn’t be surprised if Warren acknowledged Buddha and Allah in the “prayer” before inauguration.

Now in the name of political correctness we are censoring prayers.
