He has received death threats regularly and was once asked by his pastor to change churches. For years he and his wife wouldnt leave the house without bodyguards at their side. The pressure got to be so bad that the couple eventually stopped going out at all, unless it was absolutely necessary.
But if you ask Judge George Greer about the experience, hed tell you it was all in a days work.
The 16-year veteran of the bench was the adjudicator tasked with hearing the highly publicized case of Terri Schiavo, the 41-year-old brain-damaged woman whose husband applied in 1998 to let her die.
Judge Greer was the target of intense public scrutiny for years, even after Ms. Schiavo passed away on March 31, 2005, two weeks after the court ordered that her feeding tube be removed.

Terri Schiavo's executioner was reportedly quite well received on his visit last month, and certainly got the royal fawning treatment from the Chronicle Herald's 'court reporter', feel free to fill her in on any details you think she might be missing at: jstewart@herald.ca

Oh dear, if they exaggerate the personal hardships judge Greer may or may not have suffered, it might have a chilling effect on other activist jurists. We know what physical cowards liberal bullies tend to be.
Imagine if someone “Theo Van Gogh-ed” him. Gracious!
Recall that scant months after Van Gogh’s murder, the Academy Awards failed to even mention his name, let alone commemorate his work and martyrdom.

In my opinion, there is little, if any, difference between Judge Greer and Pontius Pilate. Well, maybe there is. At least Pontius Pilate washed his hands after the dirty deed.

Oh yes indeedy, we as a society should be rightfully ashamed of how a distinguished jurist like George W. Greer was so horribly inconvenienced and put upon by that selfish Terri Schiavo who had the audacity to make like the Energizer Bunny, she kept on "living, and living, and living ... ", if she would have just DIED instead of prolonging the inevitable, the good Judge and his wife could have moved on with their lives, gone back to their periodic trips to Costco, KFC, etc., and those bodyguards could go back to doing part time security gigs at various local businesses, and of course Michael Schiavo could have been living large that much sooner.
Speaking of the 'Husband-of-the-Year', here is an interesting article from just a few days ago:

Well said. And Pilate actually stated that he did not find Jesus guilty of anything.
