EFI, LLC Selling Heller Commemorative Rifles (Honors Historic 2nd Amendment DC Case)
PRWeb ^ | December 21, 2008 | unknown

Last week the Washington, DC City Council passed new laws regulating the possession of firearms in the city. Proceeds from the sale of EFI, LLC rifles commemorating the 2008 Supreme Court ruling that the Second Amendment protects an individual right to keep and bear arms will fund future Heller cases crafted to overturn the new onerous restrictions. Inwood, WV (PRWEB) December 21, 2008 -- EFI, LLC is pleased to announce that it will be producing rifles commemorating the 2008 landmark United States Supreme Court decision in the case of District of Columbia v. Heller. The Supreme Court ruled in Dick Heller's favor, finding that the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution protects an individual right to keep and bear arms and that a complete ban on handguns is unconstitutional. EFI, LLC will produce the Signature Silver series of rifles for a limited time period. These rifles will be stamped with Dick Heller's signature and accented with silver. Like the Signature Gold rifles, the Signature Silver Series will also come with an airline-approved hard case, bipod, scope, and Certificate of Authenticity signed by Mr. Heller.

I guess it some sort of concept. But, there are no descriptions or pictures.

Went through their site. Have some cool tools but, not a good idea to do a PR release and expect someone to plunk down $20,000 without a mockup.

We will also admit that we have much more experience as gun-rights activists than as business people. We weren’t planning on issuing the press release quite this early, but then the DC City Council passed the new firearm regulations last week, and we had only a few days heads-up. Given the anger and angst in the RKBA community over 1) the new restrictions passed by DC, and 2) Obama’s election, we believed it appropriate to move as soon as we could. We wanted to let people know that the people and groups who brought us Heller I will be working diligently to overturn these restrictions - except this time around they’re asking for help. So, if you think that we jumped the gun on the press release, then I must beg your pardon for our mistake. We were thinking as activists, not businessmen.

Also, unlike the companies that would typically mass-produce a commemorative item (firearm-related or not), we are a manufacturer that specializes in custom builds. The people buying these rifles will purchase a unique firearm built to their specifications. While we could post pictures, and we do have pictures up of our more standard offerings, depending on the stock style and color, scope, barrel length, etc that you select for a commemorative precision rifle, the product you receive may look nothing like the picture from the web site. We had considered using a standard build for the commemorative rifles, but rejected the idea as our business model is that of a custom, high-end manufacturer who builds long-range rifles based on the customer’s requirements.

Hope this helps.
M

I wonder how the $10,000 and $20,000 per rifle pricing was arrived at. I understand that 10% goes to Heller’s charity, but this seems a little beyond market prices even for the finest custom rifles.

Saw your guns and they are beautiful. Did not realize you are a custom manufacturer.

Would love to see a mock up still. I had a 270 when I was younger that was custom and it fit like a glove.

It would take about 6 months from measurement to completion, I assume?

It depends on the option(s) selected. Some of the components (McMillan in particular for stocks) are backordered 8-10 months. Panic buyers have a lot of vendors hopping right now, but manufacturers are not likely to expand their facilities for fear this is a temporary blip in demand, and for fears that certain guns will be banned by the new Dem Congress and BO.

From their web site:

The Precision Strike will be available in .338 Lapua on a Viper action and purchaser's choice of McMillan stock, while the Rapid Strike will be made in .308. All rifles come with our quarter-MOA guarantee.

The costs going into these packages is not insignificant and these are a very limited line of rifles that once this single run is done, will never be produced again. With the Gold Series rifles, the purchasers also get an opportunity to spend time with Dick Heller without the media in their faces.

Are these rifles cheap? Nope. But the sales help to guarantee that we finally win the fight against those who would disarm us.
