Following a news conference today in which President-elect Barack Obama dodged questions related to Gov. Rod Blagojevich, NBC Washington bureau chief Mark Whitaker told Andrea Mitchell on MSNBC that journalists must continue to "press them hard."
"It's a question that is not going away and he can't, as he did in the press conference, just tell a reporter that they shouldn't even be asking the question," said Whitaker.
Politico's Michael Calderone reports Obama told Chicago Tribune reporter John McCormick, "I don't want you to waste your question," after he asked about the IL Governor.
"Our job as journalists and the fourth estate is to press them hard, ask the tough questions," said Whitaker. "We can't let up on that just because these are tough times and he's had a very successful campaign."

It was instinct that told the MSM that Sarah Palin was a snake-handling subretard and thus required hundreds of reporters digging through the most picayune details of her life. It was also instinct that that told the MSM that Barack Obama was the Risen Christ and needed to be worshipped.

They make much of this virtue. It doesn’t occur to them that their instincts almost all trend the same way — to supporting liberalism and undermining conservatism.

Problem is, hardly any in the MSM have been acting like they are free and despite these "words" you they are still not acting like it.
To the contrary, they have acted like the abused whores of the Obama campaign and are still playing that part.
I would to God that one enterprising amongst them would ask the hard questions and not let up...about Obama's upbringing, about Obama's college records, about Obama's stance and activities as a "community organizer" and so-called law professor (particularly an in depth expose on his 2001 NPR interview), about Obama's record as a State Senator, about Obama's record and comments as a U.S. Senator, about Obama's sick circle fo friends and support, etc., etc.

And that JOHN HARWOOD.....UBER REPORTER had NO IDEA if Obama ran Blago’s 2992 campaign!! HARWOOD looked liked a DEER in the HEADLIGHTS today! He looked STUPID!!! He Looked UNCURIOUS which is what they accuse Bush of.
He fields those questions like a pro.

No, they aren’t having second thoughts.
Two things at work here. Obama has done a lousy job of controlling the story and brushing aside any questions on the matter is only prolonging this potentially hurting the “credibility” of a new administration. They are trying to help by coaxing him to be more responsive.
The other is that they want Obama to recognize who is boss. He thinks he is. The media believe they are. The only media he is allowed to be dismissive toward is conservative media. Their tempers are flaring a bit.
This guy is going to go down burning brighter than a Supernova!

when he compared their 'feeding frenzy' over the background of Sarah Palin--while the MSM virtually ignored Hussein's background!
The MSM is shameless. Absolutely shameless--and absolutely UNCONSCIONABLE.
