To back its claim, the panel cites a litany of cybersecurity breaches that it claims hit sensitive areas in 2007 alone:

"The unclassified e-mail of the secretary of defense was hacked, and DOD officials told us that the department's computers are probed hundreds of thousands of times each day," the panel reports. "A senior official at the Department of State told us the department had lost 'terabytes' of information. Homeland Security suffered break-ins in several of its divisions, including the Transportation Security Agency. The Department of Commerce was forced to take the Bureau of Industry and Security off-line for several months, and NASA has had to impose e-mail restrictions before shuttle launches and allegedly has seen designs for new launchers compromised.

To counter the reported attacks, the panel recommends steps that, by the CSIS' own admission, may raise privacy concerns for American citizens.

Soooo, since the almighty U.S. gubbermint is incompetent to the point of being just plain stupid, once again their solution is to attack the U.S Citizen. Never mind actually fixing the problem on their end, just destroy the system for everybody, right? And if that also means yet another invasion into the lives of Americans, no biggie, right?

How typical is THAT?

Well,

We can always fall back on the old tried and true snail mail...

Writing, licking, stamping, higher and higher stamp prices...etc etc etc...

Might be kinda fun...

I think this is a plot by the postal service to get us back to the good old days...

Hey guys this is a two way street.

Look at what Barry O’ did when he was running for office. All those “from Barry O’ emails” that were from someone in his office. Typical Rip Off Artist.

But, we can think of 100 reasons why the Internet MUST be FREE . . . Amendment One and all . . . but also because it cuts through borders and boundaries.

The FIRST to raise a stink will be the PornOperators. You think for one minute that the sleaziest humans are going to deny themselves their debauchery?

Then will be those who live in the USofA and have cyber rooms and web sites in foreign Countries for the benefit of their resistance groups. They have the ability and capability of playing the Cyber Cops for fools, running their web sites through all kinds of internet ISPs so the leaders of their home Countries can’t locate them and kill them in their sleep. They’ll resist.

There are also sane heads among Republicans and DINOs as well who will balk.

What WE do is we start emailing our Congresspeople and Senators and get their support for a FREE Internet before Barry O’ gets in office.

Ready, set, email. http://www.usa.gov

Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury

This is all that is required except maybe “1984” by George Orwell.

They are on your trail.

Anyone know an unbreakable encryption scheme?

We all should expect some gov’t intervention on the web soon (not that I want it). What with rampant, spyware, malaware, porn, predatory this-n-that, theft of intellectual property and identity theft, it’s BOUND to force some sort of “web cop” situation!

You can thank the evil of human nature for this.

What leads you to believe that it’s not happening right now? Remember, the Gov doesn’t tell you ANYTHING that can foul up their operations. I’ve seen “Top Secret” stamped on ordinary news releases because some A$$H()LE thinks it might scare the public (or inform the public of some Gov screwup).
