CHICAGO – His career in shreds, Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich clung defiantly to power Wednesday, ignoring a call to step down from President-elect Barack Obama and a warning that Senate Democrats will not let him appoint a new senator from the state.
"Everyone is calling for his head," said Barbara Flynn Currie, a leader in the Illinois Senate and, like the governor, a Democrat.
One day after Blagojevich's arrest, fellow Illinois politicians sought to avoid the taint of scandal-by-association.
Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. said at a news conference in Washington that he was Senate Candidate 5 in the government's criminal complaint — a man Blagojevich was secretly recorded as saying might be willing to pay money to gain appointment to Obama's vacant Senate seat. Jackson said he had been assured by prosecutors he was not a target of the investigation, and he emphatically said he had not engaged "whatsoever in any wrongdoing."

Obama calling for him to resign almost makes me want to root for Blago... almost.
Blago is gonna want to save himself. I am rooting for the guy to start spilling the beans on the anointed one.

I hope Blago realizes that he’s being hung out to dry. I also hope he’s smart enough to know that’s its time to cut a deal and sing, sing, sing - as in, the hills are alive with the sound of indictments baby.

If Blagojevich is going about “business as usual” it probably means he is still holding tightly to the shovel and enlarging the hole he’s already dug. Blago and Obama have many things in common, not the least of which is their narcissistic personalities.
Or a Rahm Emanuel.

He is now setting up his new retirement plan.
Either he goes to prison or he “F**kin’” gets paid by threatening to name names.
I was surprised to learn of his arrogance. I know some who think they can do whatever they want, but, this guy is a lunatic.
This is a very tricky situation. It’s getting harder and harder for the rats to blame Bush for this.
