Mexico sends Cubans home under new accord

MEXICO CITY — Mexico is sending illegal Cuban migrants home for the first time under a new accord aimed at cutting off an increasingly violent human-trafficking route to the United States, an official said Thursday.

Before Mexico signed the agreement with Cuba in October, authorities rarely sent migrants back to the communist island.

The Cubans were being deported from the resort city of Cancun, said Luis Alberto Molina, an immigration official in Quintana Roo state, where Cancun is located.

Molina said he could not give further details.

An Associated Press photographer in Cancun saw about 60 immigrants being loaded on two buses early Thursday, and some shouted out that they were being sent to Cuba. A Cuban Embassy official said he had no information but was looking into the matter.

Cuban migrants in recent years have increasingly headed for Mexico — often to the coast near Cancun — then overland to Texas because it has become so hard to dodge the U.S. Coast Guard and reach Florida by sea to qualify for U.S. residency.

Until now, Cubans were detained briefly in Mexico, then given 10- to 30-day exit orders. That allowed them to continue on to Texas, where all that is required of Cuban migrants are identity documents and medical and background checks before they are welcomed to America.

The Mexican Government displaying an incalculable amount of hypocrisy.

-Demanding its citizens receive free healthcare and education in the U.S while it deports Cubans back to their Stalinist prison. Not to mention its deplorable treatment of Central American migrants

Just say no to mejico

A couple of years ago in Isla Mujeres (a small island off the coast of Cancun) a little shantytown had developed along the east side of the island made up of mostly Cubans. They were making their way out of Cuba and going west instead of north. Isla Mujeres may be a poor little fishing village, but these metal & cardboard shelters were really terrible. Reports of crime on this normally safe island was increasing. I was concerned because I love Isla. I’m glad to hear they are taking care of their problem.

Now, we should take care of ours.

What with the drug lords in Mexico slaughtering so many people from War-ez to Tea-a-wanna, it just isn’t safe for these Cubans to head for the States via that route. That’s how I read it anyway.

I’m not sure I could live with myself if these poor Cubans got moidered in Mexico just before they got their free pass to YOUR tax money.

Send the illegal aliens who are Mexican home. They know the issue after sending Cubans home. They should understand

Well, that was nice. The horns — at first I thought it was supposed to be Hillary forty years ago, but then remembered, she was the size of a house then.
