If we had to have an “African hyphen American” for POTUS, why couldn’t it have been Thomas Sowell first?

You are apsolutely correct exceptr for you conclusion- the STOCKHOLDERS are responsible for what happens to the board
If the stockholder are lied to you should get jail time inreased by a factor of how many lives you ruined.

And would that improve your life style or just make you feel better? They can donate their bonuses to the taxpayers if they want the taxpayers to bail out their sorry @$$3$. Otherwise they can keep their bonuses and go down with the ship.

But when has anyone ever accused athletes or entertainers of "greed"? There is a difference between professional athletes and CEO's. If the athelete's don't perform, they get traded, or their contract is not renewed. A CEO can run a company into the ground, go to the taxpayer and beg for money, and if the business still fails, they walk away with millions, rewarded for their poor performance.

There are so very many of these "media allies" that there must be a few that ultimately get fed up, and might want to make several million writing a grand political exposé It did happen

I don't often disagree with TS, but I must say that the compensation that Woods, Rodriguez, & Winfrey earn are all based solely on their performance. None of the above manage publicly held companies, & enrich themselves while bankrupting the company. And when they all outlive their talent, I don't see millions of people losing their savings.
It is hard to believe that the recent & ongoing compensation of the management of the bailout companies is based on their performance.
I do agree with TS that more gubmint interference in business is a very bad thing.
This whole mess stinks of greed & self-interest, & the shareholders, the company, the economy & the country be Damned!

As the lefties call him, Uncle Thomas Thomas Sowell insists on doing the math. Lefties hate anyone who insists on doing the math.

...theres never been a big name come out and try it that I know of, I suppose their liberal roots are just too deep. You might want to reconsider that conclusion.

You’re correct and I did think of Bernie Goldberg, I guess what I meant was the really big names in broadcasting and don’t remember Bernie until he started appearing on shows and speaking out.

Well, THIS Nanny Goat is battening down the hatches and staking her life on God, Family & Country; in that order.

We are in for one wild ride. Wa-Hoo. I’m ready. :)

‘Thomas Sowell/Walter Williams 2012’
*THUD* I’d be in HEAVEN. And I’m a ‘typical white woman, clinging to her God and her Guns.’ LOL!
What a freakin’ SHAME this Presidency is going to be. I absolutely HATE sounding like someone with ‘Bush Derangement Syndrome’ but it’s going to be a very ugly four years.
But there’s HOPE! He hasn’t been sworn in yet. Let’s CHANGE that! :)

Nate, yes, I read and enjoyed "Bias".
As I recall, it was mainly a good report of symptomatic news bias, with little in the way of highlighting collusion or conspiracy (a word I rarely use here) among the Democrats and their left wing media allies.
I think that if John and Mary Q Public knew what actually transpired in editorial and production meetings, they would be truly motivated for..ahem.."change" in their trust (thus selection of) news and entertainment media outlets.

I don’t care what a CEO makes, but if he makes more than he’s worth, somebody else is going to pay for it.
Uncle Sam, Ivan, and the CEO guy better work it out before Boris shoots his goat.

Both are way too old — in their 70’s.
But a Jindahl-Steele ticket would be just fine, as long as they would pledge to take economic advice from Sowell & Williams!
