Islamabad: Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani is optimistic that after a dialogue with US President-elect Barack Obama's administration, the drone strikes in the country's tribal region will come to an end.

"The air strikes by US spy plans will halt with the starting of dialogues as soon as Barack Obama takes charge of his office," Gillani told the media in Karachi.

Pakistani Parliament, President, Prime Minister, Opposition leaders, and Armed Forces chiefs have time and again denounced the attacks and condemned violation of its territory terming it "a big hazard" in building a consensus in Pakistani society to join hands in government's war against militants.

Pakistan Army Chief General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani will take up the issue of unending drone strikes by US forces in tribal region of the country in his three-day interaction with Nato Defence Chiefs.

"During the meeting the Army Chief will call for a comprehensive approach towards complexities of security, including implications of drone strikes in Fata (Federally Administered Tribal Area) of the country," said a statement from the Armed Forces spokesman.

Kayani's visit to Brussels will commence from November 18 on a special invitation from the Chairman Nato Military Committee Admiral Giampaolo Di Paolo.

The Committee is the highest military forum and meets regularly to discuss issues concerning Nato. It provides advise on military matters to Nato's civilian decision making bodies, North Atlantic Council, Defence Planning Committee and Nuclear Planning Group.

Umm.

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama issued a pointed warning yesterday to Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf, saying that as president he would be prepared to order U.S. troops into that country unilaterally if it failed to act on its own against Islamic extremists.

” “The air strikes by US spy plans will halt with the starting of dialogues as soon as Barack Obama takes charge of his office,”

A friend of mine is convinced that Obama will be the one to “ get “ Osama.
He became convinced of this , when during at least one debate, he heard Obama say he would “ kill “ Osama.
Coming from the mouth of such a wimpy guy, who is probably afraid to kill a fly-it struck him has very odd.
And way too confident.
He thinks OBL is already dead and some Muslim country has the body or parts of it.
And that they long ago made a deal with Obama.
Obama orders some air strikes on a cave and
they make sure the right DNA gets planted.
And -Voila-Obama, who understands the Muslim culture ,
( unlike that hated George Bush ) gets to “ kill “ OBL.
It softens the blow in Muslim countries and gives Obama the excuse he needs to withdraw all forces.
Obama is dead, therefore the War on Terror is over.
The media, his voters and the world would eat it up.

Umm.

Musharraf is no longer President and Obama is no longer a candidate so His statement no longer applies.

I said it here first. What does anyone want to bet thats what Hims says IF the MSM ever brings it up.

Let us consider we have not had a terrorist attack on American soil for 2628 days. As the New Bright Change arrives to Make Everything better, Thank George Bush and the military for protecting us.

God Bless George Bush, and God Bless the United States of America.

Maybe the boy's right; maybe this is that "international crisis" (or, at least, one thereof) that Joey Biden warned us about - the one that most Americans will think that Hussein f___ed up. We stop the Predator raids on the Taliban and Al Qaeda in exchange for a Paki promise that they'll all vote "we have a more favorable impression of the US" the next time Mr. Gallup's in Islamabad.
