The killer frost for global warming
The Washington Times ^ | November 21, 2008 | Wesley Pruden

Posted on 11/21/2008 3:24:00 AM PST by Puzzleman

Turn up the heat, somebody. The globe is freezing. Even Al Gore is looking for an extra blanket. Winter has barely come to the northern latitudes and already we've got bigger goosebumps than usual. So far the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) reports 63 record snowfalls in the United States, 115 lowest-ever temperatures for the month. Only 44 Octobers over the past 114 years have been cooler than this last one...

Facts don’t matter. The politicians have tasted the kool-aid prepared by the environmental-wacko movement and the ball is now rolling downhill. People like Obama, Waxman & Pelosi will run with this to its logical conclusion - destruction of the American economy and lifestyle. It is their manifest destiny!

Anthropogenic Global Warming was not a central issue in the last campaign. Without the issue being short-stroked by the politicians, it loses the necessary “consensus”. People are no longer panicked, and they are looking at the evidence again. And the evidence is faked.

NASA tried to jump start the issue right before the election and get it back on the front page by grossly faking the October data, but it didn’t work. The Democrats didn’t need the issue, because they were running on the cost of Sarah Palin’s wardrobe. Being typical Democrats, when the Global Warming freaks weren’t needed, they were promptly thrown under the bus.

Last summer gave us a taste of what Algore has in store. $4.00 gasoline is just the beginning. High energy prices toppled the dominoes, and the economy is still reeling. People do not want to get in line for that ride again.

So now the issue has to stand or fall on the merits. Thankfully, we happen to be in a natural cyclical cooling period right now, so perhaps we can get lucky and this Global Warming nonsense can be put to bed, once and for all.

So now the issue has to stand or fall on the merits.

Since when has any political issue EVER stood on its merits? No child left behind, prescription drug bailout, gun control, ethanol as a motor fuel, the list is endless. NOTHING that comes from washington (or any of the state capitols too for that matter) ever has any merit except for some special groups that get to swill at the government trough at the taxpayers' expense.

Thankfully, we happen to be in a natural cyclical cooling period right now,

How can you tell a cooling cycle from a random fluctuation?

so perhaps we can get lucky and this Global Warming nonsense can be put to bed, once and for all.

Don't I wish, but the greasy haired hippy freaks and room temerature IQ soccer moms, and the dishonest academic "intellectuals" who make up the constituency for this nonsense are either too stupid or too dishonest to be convinced by facts. Look for it to surface again after Jan 20.

All the Liberals I know are always bleating about Stop the War and my neigborhood is filled with War is not the Answer signs and I think what the hell’s the question? The war is over, same with global warming, if their geodesic dome was covered with snow in May they’d be inside wringing their hands about global f’n warming.

I don’t think there is going to be a big political buy-in on Global Warming in January. People got a taste of the economic impact of scarce energy last Summer, and they did not like it one little bit. It is undeniable now that when Global Warming freaks are peddling CO2 emissions reductions, they are really peddling Worldwide recession and depression. This is a hard sell, to say the least.

Of course, the Democrats owe the Global Warming freaks big. But I have great confidence that they will be able to look them in the eye and say “I don’t know you” when the political price of going along is too high.

"...my neigborhood is filled with War is not the Answer signs ..."

I like how those folks always know what is "not" the answer, but never have any answers themselves.

At least with the war we're doing something besides lip service...or, sign-service, as it were.

The flower children from the 70's are having LSD flashbacks.

People are no longer panicked, and they are looking at the evidence again.

It’s also hard to get worked up about global warming when we’re freezing. Here in Hampton Roads temperature has been running 20 degrees below normal and it’s snowing already - a couple months early.

Energy supply wasn't scarce, it was just terribly expensive!

BTW, 34 deg Wednesday in Lakeland, Florida, breaking a nearly 60 year record low. 37 deg yesterday, breaking a 40 year low. Global warming my a$$!

the propagandized and propaganda- susceptible “suburban voter” who has been the target of opportunity for the leftists for the past 20 years, so-called “patio man,” is about to get up side the head by a snow shovel. Once the bitter facts are known, more importantly felt, these politicos will rue the day. One small silver lining to McCain’s loss is that he won’t be the one trying to defend the ridiculous.

We have snow flurries this morning mixed with rain in Hampton Roads, VA.

It’s colder than normal, but I remember this type of weather occurring years ago with early snows and cold.

It’s 12 degrees out with snow on the ground in Hendersonville, NC. We had our first snow about 2 weeks ago.

sounds like some sort of cycle , huh? We have snow on the ground in DE, certainly more than we have seen since Thanksgiving , 1989 (90?), this early, and it was a while before that we'd had any on the ground that early (i.e., it was considered unusual at the time).

Check out the election; many of the people aren’t paying attention to the issues. BHO will push through green controls immediately, precisely b/c he and his science advisors know that cooling is hitting. If they wait, the moment for control will be lost.
