Report: [Arizona Governor Janet] Napolitano Tabbed for Homeland Security Post
KFIV-AM ^ | November 19, 2008 | Jim Riggio

Posted on 11/19/2008 10:28:26 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

Several media sources are reporting that Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano is President-Elect Barack Obama’s top choice to become Secretary for Homeland Security.

The 50-year-old has been Arizona’s governor since 2003.

Wednesday in her weekly media briefing, she was asked if she was interested in a position in Obama's administration, to which she replied "I'm not campaigning for any new job."

In 2007, she signed legislation to penalize employers who knowingly hire illegal immigrants.

Napolitano is a graduate of Santa Clara University and the University of Virginia Law School.

She is a former U.S. Attorney for the District of Arizona.

It's like a hybrid clown car unloading hundreds of Bozos before our very eyes.

LOL!

The only good that comes out of this is..

Could we possibly see a Republican Governor replace her?

We’re seeing an interesting phenomenon.

As Obama pulls these liberals out of their states.. it’s leaving places open for Republicans to take advantage.

Think about it.. AZ Dem Gov’s out. Kerry could be out as Dem Senator. Biden out as Dem Senator.

I’m sure there’s more.

Biden will undoubtedly be replaced with another democrat... not if only Bambi would take McCain off our hands and our new GOP Governor could replace him with a Republican.

Anyone know what makes her qualified to lead us in homeland security?

Does she have a counter terrorism background? Does she know anything about terrorism at all? How was she on border security?

Maybe that is the agreement they reached in the meeting. Take the current Governor, get the SoS as the Governor and then he can appoint McCain to head DoD and AZ sends JD Hayworth to the US Senate to replace McCain.

How does that sound?

That looks like a winner all the way around. If that turns out to be the case, I will always beieve that McCain wanted to be SecDef more then President the way he ran his campaign.

J. D. is history. Nice guy but a buffoon.

John Shaddegg was in line to replace McCain if McCain had won. He announced his retirement last year but reneged and that was one of the reasons.

SoS is a she, Jan Brewer.

If McCain leaves, his replacement must be a Republican, no matter who the Governor is.

I like Shaddegg. I would love to see McCain leave the Senate with his reaching across the aisle mentality.

I'll be happy if we end up with Governor Jan Brewer.

No

No

Does she know anything about terrorism at all?

Probably not

How was she on border security?

Less than adequate after she was drug kicking and screaming into the issue by the Legislature.
