In his first speech on global warming since winning the election, President-elect Barack Obama promised Tuesday to set stringent limits on greenhouse gases, saying the need is too urgent for delay.
Many observers had expected Obama to avoid tackling such a complex, contentious issue early in his administration. But in videotaped comments to the Governors' Global Climate Summit in Beverly Hills on Tuesday, he called for immediate action.
"Now is the time to confront this challenge once and for all," Obama said. "Delay is no longer an option. Denial is no longer an acceptable response. The stakes are too high, the consequences too serious."

The Warmists-Alarmists have changed the code-word from Global Warming to Climate Change, but the actions they want to take are the same as when they called it Global Warming, in spite of the fact that the facts on the ground prove Man-caused Global Warming is a crock.
The irony is that now that we are actually in a cooling phase, the actions the Alarmists want us to take will accomplish about the same thing as they would if we were in a warming phase - not much of anything.
This is not about Global Warming, Global Cooling, or Climate Change. It’s about reaching into our pocketbooks and extracting as much money as they can.

This will affect land use planning, transportation planning at all levels and AB32 must be incorporated into city general plans.
