The people in that video were probably more intelligent than most who voted — or at least fairly well spoken. We’ve heard the ‘man on the street’ idiots, and the Sterns interviews. Brains are not an issue -— especially for those who wish power.

We are in trouble.

No I meant questions like: Who is Senate Majority Leader, who is your governor? These people would never know the answer, too busy watching American Idol.

That’s lazy, not stupid, IMHO.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

It is what I call “willfully ignorant” which may be worse than stupid. These are the kind of people represented by the old cliche,”Don’t confuse me with the facts”. They don’t want to know the truth and they become very belligerant when anyone tries to make them aware of the truth. The reason for this is that if they are made to face the truth it includes the truth that they themselves are too useless and sorry to live. They will gladly suck the life out of anyone who has any real energy, they are the human equivalent of ticks on a hound dog’s ear. The most disgusting feature exhibited by most of them is their insistence that they are in fact the “intelligentsia” when, in point of fact, most of them exhibit less real intelligence than the average sharecropper of sixty years ago.

I was in line at Wal*Mart and an Obamaton was blathering on about the lower oil prices are because Bush was going out of office and he couldn't manipulate the market anymore with his oil buddies. These people are hopeless. All commodities are going down but these people are much too dull to even comprehend that.

Stupid is as stupid does.

Yeah, but the party of stupid, WINS!

Meanwhile, the party of smarties, LOSES!

The stupid party gets to set the agenda and to run (or should I say, ruin) the country.

The party of smarties gets to lick their wounds and cry foul and call the party that won, "stupid". The party of dummies gets to call us, "losers".

Nice guys do finish last!

Great bumper sticker.

It is beyond sickening. I wouldn’t want to be in the shoes of most of the MSM, academia, etc. who deceptively help form public opinion, when they meet their maker.

His constituents are inherently ignorant people. It’s difficult to disprove that statement.

It took a century, but compulsory governent schooling has finally achieved the goal of a population of drones who will do what they are told and ask no questions.

The ignorance of the electorate is a direct result of the where they obtain their news and what the MSM reports.

The ONLY LINE OF DEFENSE that exists against a TOTAL ONE PARTY RULE of the Federal Government is the 4th estate.

As we can see from this poll and previous interviews the alternative news media and the MSM are completely in the back pocket of OBAMA.

There are absolutely NO checks and balances, something that could NEVER happen if the GOP were in charge.

Our nation COULD BE in serious peril!

The poll questions, taken from http://www.zogby.com/news/wf-dfs.pdf

: 200. Before this past election, which political party controlled both houses of congress?
201. Which candidate could not say how many houses they own?
202. Which candidate said they could see Russia from their house?
203. Which candidate had to quit a previous political campaign because they were found to have plagiarized a speech?
204. Which candidate won their first election by getting all of their opponents kicked off the ballot?
205. Which candidate wore clothes that their political party reportedly spent $150,000 on?
206. Which candidate currently has a pregnant teenage daughter?
207. Which candidate said that Obama would be tested in his first six months as president by a generated international crisis?
208. Which candidate claimed to have campaigned in 57 states?
209. Which candidate said their policies would likely bankrupt the coal industry and make energy rates skyrocket?
210. Which candidate said that the government should redistribute the wealth?
211. Which candidate started their political career at the home of two former members of the Weather Underground?

I got all 12, as I am sure most FReepers would.

IMHO, the issue is how to fight the MSM and get the message out to the people. Clearly when the Obamanation outspent us 10:1 and had $600M to dole out to his buddies in the MSM we are at a serious disadvantage. I can imagine the discussions: “hey NBC, give us favorable coverage or we spend our ad $$ at ABC”.

Many Repubs reaction is to not fight them, give in and hope to get a better deal from the MSM. Hey, we might get a few wins in the short term, but forget about our Republic.

So if you are at the highest levels of the RNC you better be thinking about:

1. Better ways to deliver the message including alternative media including the Internet

2. Revamp and re-energize the GOTV efforts

3. Raise more $$, scrap this idea of limiting campaign contributions and spending

4. Start long term projects to get to the youth in the schools. Find a way to make Conservatism “cool” and “hip” and to “feel good”, because that is what our schools are churning out.

5. Energize and organize Conservatives to get out a deliver the message. This is very hard because most of us just want to be left alone and not get out there. We must.

The left can be defeated, because they have no real solutions, they will over reach and fail badly. Conservatism works, but must be “sold” more effectively.

202. Which candidate said they could see Russia from their house?

Uh, that wasn’t even a candidate; that was Tina Fey. But I KNOW what the sheeple said.

I can’t even look at this stuff anymore. It just enrages me.

that was Tina Fey.

You're right. The correct answer to that question is "none of the above." Here is Palin's comment:

If one is too lazy to apply their own intelligence, how does that make them NOT stupid?

It makes them ignorant. Stupid is unable to learn. Ignorant is able to learn but having not learned. Thus, those who refuse to learn may well be able to, they just won't. That leaves them uninformed and, hence, ignorant, yes?

Isn’t it true that the blindest man is the one who will not see?

Metaphorically, probably, but metaphors are an observation of reality and only have validity when they constructively interpret it. They do not determine reality. Those who are unable to see are blind and must figure out their environment, those who refuse to see will just blunder into whatever comes into range. You can try to steer them clear, but it's likely wasted effort. So, you have a point: those who want to see but can't will likely be more co-operative than those who could see but won't.

That still doesn't make those who are wilfully ignorant stupid, just ignorant, which entirely suffices for the purpose of figuring out what they are likely to do or insist on next, yes?
