McCain was the front runner out of the gate.

No, everyone was talking about Rudy vs. Hillary for months, maybe even years, before things got rolling.

Isn’t it a little early to expect people to declare a candidate they’ll be voting for in somewhere north of 1145 days?

If Amnesty goes through the only chance for the GOP to win is to have a Hispanic male along with a black female at the top of the ticket. How bout?

George P. Bush

I disagree with the premise of your post. The great hope for 2012 centers on nominating Sarah Palin.

1. Heck no it’s not. I don’t care how bad this punk who’s headed to the white House is, anyone who’s thinking we should go an a four year long campaign cycle is not thinking straight.

2. 2010 first. We need to take back the House and do what we can in the Senate.

3. Even if your right, part of the race is choosing one’s candidate, and I think that we can allow our fellow conservatives 1,100 days or so to figure that out without demanding they pony up today.

I assume your joking. No more people named Bush. Don’t even put them in the cabinet.

The war will be fought: if you prefer to not involve yourself in it, that is your prerogative.

However, many of those who try to put 2012 on the backburner are in fact trying to take the steam out the Sarah Palin engine and that effort will fail abysmally.

And they are ignoring the fact that now more than ever, conservatives need great individuals to rally around. Having that hope, through actively promoting those great individuals, will be the driving force for any positive change.

Personally, I’m looking at 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012. All matter. None can be marginalized.

It has barely been a week since we managed to elect a Marxist to the White House. And, yes, I say “we”, as in us — conservatives. We can blame the media, cross-over voters, and the RINOs in our midst, but the fact is that McCain became our default candidate because we squabbled like children and fragmented our support until it was too late to do anything about it.

So, here we are again. Four years from the next election and already we’re squabbling like children. “Hunter is the best! No, Palin is the best! No, Jindal!” We truly are pathetic, and deserved to lose this election. Maybe we deserve to lose in 2012, too, until we learn the concept of “electoral discipline”: pick 2 serious candidates, and let the rest know to get with the program or get to steppin’.

THANK YOU! This is exactly what's happening!

You really like Jindal?

I haven’t really read anything but Hunter from you...that makes me a bit more interested in Jindal. And believe me, I’m far from informed on him.

“No, he did not have a chance. The GOP was enamored with Rudy McRomeny. It won’t happen again.”

The GOP took a while to completely warm-up to Reagan. 64’ to 81....I would say Hunter entered in the national spotlight just last year...as far as the common republican knows.
