McCain was the front runner out of the gate. Perhaps the most well known and media liked republican in history. Name ID was 100%. Rudy was probably #2 in the celebrity category, and he soon overtook McCain in the polls. Romney was also a celebrity ex-governor. And Fred was a movie star.

No more celebrities. Only genuine Reaganites.

I recommend a second term as Governor, writing multiple books, giving speeches, building a network, making contacts, growing the fan base, raising money for other Republicans, and running for President in 2012.

The one thing that bothered me about Sarah was during her speech at the convention. She said parents with special needs children would have an "advocate" in the White House.

Does this mean another bloated government program?

From late October:

In a speech in Pittsburgh, Penn., Palin pledged that a McCain-Palin administration would fully fund the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, exempt disability programs from the domestic discretionary spending freeze they plan to institute next year, and will provide school vouchers so families can send their special needs children to the school of their choice.

He had his chance, and he didn’t do well.

I’ll take my chances with someone else.

No, he did not have a chance. The GOP was enamored with Rudy McRomeny. It won’t happen again.

Hunter, Thompson, you guys need to understand that these guys (no matter how conservative) are un-electable...

What with being dead and all: he can vote Democrat, but election is out.

And while he had the right idea on guns and small government, he wasn't a social conservative

Hunter has about as much charisma as Bob Dole.

"Bob Dole objects to your comparison!"

So apparently you'd like to lose the 2012 election, too ............

She's un-electable. Get used to it.

Against Obama, Sarah Palin is the most electable Presidential candidate that the Republican Party can nominate.

“”She’s DUMB! Haven’t you figured that out yet? America needs a President who is educated, brilliant and capable. She’s none of these things. Those who promote her as a candidate in 2012 risk sending the Party into the hinterlands...””

I don’t think she’s dumb but I don’t want to see her run for President because she would never be treated decently by the media/dems/republicans. She got a taste of that this time around so why would anyone set themselves up for that again?

After seeing the 1st episode of Greta’s interview with her last night, I think she would have made a good running mate with Biden. She absolutely can’t answer a question without going on and on. I think Greta was ready to doze off waiting for answers to simple questions. I won’t watch the 2nd episode...My opinion.......

She would be chewed up, spit out, and chewed up some more by the media, until she would not be even recognizable as a human being. I'm not saying that she is not a great GOPer with all the good characteristics of a true conservative, but we are going to have to have a Patton type leader for the next go 'round.

It’s great to see that no matter what happens, we shall always live up to our un-official motto: “The Stupid Party”.

It has barely been a week since we managed to elect a Marxist to the White House. And, yes, I say “we”, as in us — conservatives. We can blame the media, cross-over voters, and the RINOs in our midst, but the fact is that McCain became our default candidate because we squabbled like children and fragmented our support until it was too late to do anything about it.

So, here we are again. Four years from the next election and already we’re squabbling like children. “Hunter is the best! No, Palin is the best! No, Jindal!” We truly are pathetic, and deserved to lose this election. Maybe we deserve to lose in 2012, too, until we learn the concept of “electoral discipline”: pick 2 serious candidates, and let the rest know to get with the program or get to steppin’.

I am convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt that if Reagan had had to make it through the 2008 Republican primary circus, he wouldn’t have made it past Iowa.

In all of that, no mention was made of whom you support for 2012 and why.

Where did you even FIND that horrible picture of Sarah.

My suggestion for the campaign slogan:

Do You Want Your Freedom Back?

Alternate suggestions:

Do You Want Your 401k Back?

Do You Want Your Guns Back?

Do You Want Your Computer Back?

Do You Want Your House Back?

Do You Want Your Children Back?
