Bombings kill 31 in Baghdad during morning commute

A suicide bomber Monday struck a crowd rushing to help schoolgirls trapped in a bus by an earlier bombing. The Interior Ministry said at least 31 people were killed — the deadliest in a string of blasts that raise doubts about Iraqi security forces as the U.S. prepares to reduce troops.

The ministry said another 71 people were wounded in the twin blasts, the deadliest attack in Baghdad in six weeks. A third bomb exploded about 130 yards from the scene in the mostly Shiite Kasrah section of north Baghdad but caused no casualties, police said.

No group claimed responsibility for the attacks during the morning rush hour. But suspicion fell on al-Qaida in Iraq, which has made suicide bombings against Shiite civilians its signature attack.

In recent weeks, there has been an uptick in small-scale bombings in Baghdad. An Associated Press tally showed at least 19 bombings in the city this month as of Sunday, compared with 28 for all of October and 22 in September.

It’s be all peaceful, and we won’t hear a peep from Iraq when obama withdraws the troops.

And so it begins. The terrorists are already making their plans public for when 0 pulls the troops and there is no one there to help protect the untold Iraquis who have started on a path to democracy.

Yep....the Iraqis think this was because of 0bama.

It's been pretty peaceful here for several months, but there is an occasional bombing.

I pray that this is a isolated incident. I'd hate to see things go back to anywhere near like they were a couple of years ago.

Yes...I can see where they would see it that way.

“Let’s see if we can incite the new, weak American military-hating President to turn tail and run like some others we have known.”

I pray for our troops and for the Iraqis who have sided with us. If you are still over there, stay safe...

Well folks, we are in for a world of sh!t! I am so dang angry right now, those 60 million selfish POS’s will have the blood on their hands. Give peace a chance my a$$! This is just the beginning. All of the hard work and headway made in Iraq is going to go down the tubes and he hasn’t even been sworn in yet. The world is laughing at us, we have an incoming President and a majority in the House and Senate that have done nothing but tear down our military as imcompetent and mock the General in charge.

I am sooooo pissed!

GOOD! Keep it up. This will ensure we kick all the loser moderates/rino's out of the republican party. They are the reason for all the loses.

I would love to kick the RINO’s out however, we have a runoff here in GA between Saxby Chambliss and Jim Marshall coming up. I don’t care for Saxby at all, between the immigration debacle and the drilling plan he backed I will vote for him to keep the Senate seat, however I’d love to see him replaced.

Look at it this way. When the POS's in D.C. force us into a Revolution, we have our first targets.

That's interesting. What has been their general reaction to the election of Obama? Are they worried?

One silver lining to the bombing is maybe it takes a little pressure off Maliki to get the American troops out quickly.

Oh yeah. Most of the Iraqis wanted McCain to win because they knew he would look out for Iraq's stability.

In fact, I don't know any Iraqis who supported Obama. Then again, I don't know any of the terrorists here.
