Just on CNN, Congressional Democrat Hoyer talking about all the promises Obama made to win the election. In rather blunt terms, Hoyer cautioned that, because of all the "conservative Dems" that have been elected to Congress, no one should expect any of Obama's tax cut promises to actually happen for, oh, "12-24 months," if then because, you know, the economy is in bad shape and many new Dems will balk at further increasing the national debt (now at $11 trillion), blah, lie, blah.
This may be the all-time record of a Democrat announcing that last week's promises are, ah, 'no longer operative.' Hoyer suggested that since Obama has had his first highly classified briefing on the world economy, he may be forced to back-off on his campaign pledges.
(Readers may note that CNN is the source of this news, not Fox. Fox has become unwatchably bad for this Freeper since they've made such Obama doofuses as Marc Hill unofficial news anchors.)
Well, let’s hope for the best and prepare for the possibility that he’ll do exactly what he said he would do.
But I thought he said that April 15, 2009 I won’t have to pay taxes ever agian? Say it ain’t so Joe!
Oh goody. All those folks who said “See! Obama wants to give middle class tax cuts, not those evil rich folks” can sit in shock at how he LIED to them.
And I will not “pull together” because I feel this country is in for a ride regardless if I pull together or unify or not. So I’ll just gloat, thank you very much.
What a coincidence. That’s the same excuse the last Democrat president used to cancel his promised tax cuts.
1. TERROR CRISIS - What he will do will seem stupid; that’s cuz of secret stuff we don’t understand.
2. PROMISES - He won’t deliver on them, and that’s cuz of “the conservative democrats”...
Fox News: Well, apparently 52% of this country really likes Obama, so we’ll slant his direction and piss off 100% of our audience. Yeah, we’re brilliant!
Like any one of US needed a Steny Hoyer to tell US that?
LOL there they go again blaming conservatives for their failed plots and plans. Where would these people be without their favorite scapegoats???
This is a no brainer. Obama promised the world as a candidate. We all know there would be no way he’d be able to keep his promises. The bigger story is why the media didn’t call him on the fact that he is full of it?
oh, right. I forgot. They wanted him president so they just covered up for him while attacking the RINO.
That's not what he said. I hate to break this to you, but you're gonna have to pay more taxes so Obama can pay my mortgage and for the gas in my car.
It's time you got stuck. You sound rich to me, probably making more than $42,000 a year and all.

Where’s those trucks with all the Free Stuff from the Government? It’s been almost a week and I haven’t even seen one yet.
No one in their right mind should be supporting tax cuts without cuts in spending. Bush grew the economy but think of where we would be right now without all of the increases in spending!!!
It’s funny that Buttock never said he’d pay for anyone’s gas or mortgage,
but that he remained such a Rorschach test that people saw this in his policy even though it wasn’t there.
Excuse me for my ignorance, but why is the world economic situation "highly calssified"?
Not surprising considering that The One, during his victory speech on Election Day (!), already began backing off his promises, by saying we face a long, steep climb and that his “changes” may take more than one term. Pelosi in a speech the next day also warned that these changes will take time, and my local congress critter (a creep named Paul Hodes) last week said Americans cannot expect instant gratification.
I look for four years of anti-Bush bashing rhetoric from the Dems, and possibly investigations. The tactic worked in 06, and again in 08.
Here’s a interesting proposal for you guys -
anyone that claims that only those making over 250k, or whatever it is this week, will be paying more taxes and everyone else will get a tax cut needs to be challenged with this:
“Let’s make a wager. Every year that 0bama is president, I’ll calculate my taxes under 2007 fiscal tax rules, and then my actual tax for that year. If it’s less, I’ll pay you the difference. If it’s more, you pay me the difference. Still gonna say that I’ll pay less under 0bama?”
Of course, leftist moonbats being immune to logic will blame Bush.
There are some promises of his I don’t want him to keep, ever...............
