The Financial “Rescue” that Bankrupted America

It is the story of our lifetimes: a financial crisis is underway and getting worse. As the recession deepens, our jobs and savings are threatened, and our children and grandchildren will probably live in a country with lower living standards and fewer opportunities than what we have enjoyed. America may be reduced to the status of a second- or third-rate economic power, dependent on international agencies like the International Monetary Fund and Arab governments for investment dollars and foreign aid handouts.
However, the looting of the taxpayers, which was initially $700 billion for Wall Street and has now ballooned to an estimated $1.8 trillion and is not over yet, was not labeled as corruption by our media. Instead, it was called a rescue and was demanded by many anchors and reporters. We were told it would stabilize the markets and help ordinary people. It didnt.
...
Instead of getting to the bottom of what caused the financial crisis and how it affected the course of the campaign, Fox News Channels Carl Cameron aired a frivolous attack on GOP vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin on November 5, citing anonymous sources without corroboration as saying that the Alaska Governor didnt know Africa was a continent and that she displayed temper tantrums during the campaign. The Cameron report has led to a proposal for a Boycott of Fox News by conservatives. Support for the boycott is running strong on the conservative Free Republic website.
Cameron spewed unmitigated hearsay and garbage without one shred of supporting evidence, noted one entry.

Hey, didn’t he help McCain win the nomination so the Republicans could go down in flames?
And, as for the “bailout”: why rescue institutions that so miserably caved in and financed the collapse rather than the innovation and development that would have won the war? What needed change did we get in return and what “change” will Obama the eloquent charlatan give us?

"..Hey, didnt he help McCain win the nomination.." You need to go back to body lauguge classes...Cameron thought McCain was a joke. He could barely contain himself the day McCain went back to DC for the bailout. In fact..the whole day staff were the original ones who made of joke of it....I thought they were going to lose it right there on the air. They set the tone that began the drop in McCain's numbers...that very day.

I hear he has a husband...not sure if that rumor is true. That might explain the Palin hate.

A lot of people thought this was a bold and shrewd move by McCain, showing leadership by suspending his campaign. I laughed at first, then got pissed at the stupidity, then laughed again at some people's reaction here about McCain's superior "poker playing skills".
After "the hard work" of being just one of 49 Senators (I guess from the Party of limited government) and the vote that came about of McCain's "brilliant" strategy, America was ready for the reprobate known as Barrack Obama to take over the Presidency.

I don't think it would have been that big of a deal if he would have gone back to DC to get in the mix but the hype that came after by the Fox was what made it a joke.
They blew it up..."OMG! OMG! McCain is suspending his campign...(giggle, giggle)." That was enough to get the joke rolling. Guess who came running into the studio breathless with a Cheshire cat grin on his face to announce it?...You guessed it, Cameron.

Killed momentum (By playing into the hands of the media, all too eager to ridicule the “knight in shining armor” routine) and the result of the futile action/vote killed his Presidency.

Yep, that and another moment rarely mentioned...he scared the crap out of the Seniors every time he said he was going to implement a spending freeze. I know what he probably meant but I'm sure most of them didn't because he didn't explain it.

Subliminal message......”he is going to freeze the increase on my check.” Even though he probably meant other programs...he just left that huge bomb hanging out there, twice I believe.

Yes, but at that point the damage was already done because John McCain had the nomination and was free to fly the Republican Party into Corpus Christi Bay and claim the engine had flamed out. Now he can’t recall having read up on where the eject button is.

I sat there aghast while Cameron spewed his diatribe from his anonymous sources in front of a O’Reilly who kept on gloating and reminding us that Palin never showed up to face him.
As to O’Reilly, he keeps moving left but doesn't miss an opportunity reminding us how centered he is.
With O’Reilly’s oil pricing theories and condemnation of oil companies, he kept on and going and going straight against Fox's business channel.
Will this king, while turning sideways, topple?
