The Once and Future Hillary Clinton
Time ^ | 11-5-08 | Karen Tumulty

Posted on 11/09/2008 3:39:35 PM PST by STARWISE

What becomes now of Hillary Clinton? Will she run again for President? Make a bid for Senate majority leader? Go home to New York and run for governor? Does she covet a job in Barack Obama's Cabinet or maybe an appointment to the Supreme Court?

No, no, no and no, come the answers. As she told me recently, "I'm going to be focused, as I always have been, on what we're going to get done. I'm not interested in just enhancing my visibility. I'm interested in standing on the South Lawn of the White House and seeing President Obama signing into law quality, affordable health care for everybody, and voting in a big majority for clean, renewable energy and smarter economic policies.

That's what I'm all about, and I'm going to use every tool at my disposal to bring it about."

But it's hard to imagine Hillary Clinton ever playing just a supporting role.

She is now both a smaller and a larger figure than when she set out on her first presidential-campaign swing through frigid Iowa nearly two years ago.

Michelle Obama takes a shot at Hillary Clinton

~~~
But then, there's that one little oversight, maybe in Martinique.
~~~

Ooh, how much I will miss Pres. and Laura Bush. God bless and protect them all the days of their lives. They set a standard for grace, dignity and class that is impossible to match by any of the current players.

Interactions between Hillary, zer0 and MO should be interesting to watch play out. No doubt in my mind that MO will have the upper hand and make that patently obvious.

HAH! That’s Hell-funny!

Maybe she should take up strip-tease. It would definitely help her improve her larger figure because she’d be more conscious of it, and spend more time at the gym. She’d make a tidy income on the side, and as an added bonus she might be able to keep Wicked Willy at home and away from the hired staff.

Yup. Hillary as a stripper makes an eminent amount of sense.

If she (Hillary) can’t run her house, can’t run the WH> Translation: MO will run the WH - not BO.

Michelle is going to show Hill how to RUN things as POTUS.

“The Once and Future Hillary” title was stolen from a very important article written by Joseph Farrah.

The run has built up strong cankles, I don’t see her fading into some supporting role. But for now, she hasn’t much choice but to sit back and wait.

After all she’s got 12 years before she’s McCains age!

Hillary CLinton will just do whatever the men incharge tell her to.

Some fighter she turned out to be.

I'm betting she doesn't even make another run for the Senate. There's been no activity towards it....and remember, she lost a lot of money in the meantime...which amounts to what her book gained for her...heh, heh, heh.

Right now, she's walking around with a big "L" on her forehead and it'll never get erased.

I’m no Hillary fan, but I certainly will be rooting for her to ride Zero’s bumper for the next four years.

seeing President Obama signing into law quality, affordable health care for everybody, and voting in a big majority for clean, renewable energy and smarter economic policies.

That computes. She wants national health insurance and that is not health care. Energy is conserved in this universe and doesn't need renewing, not that we could renew it even if we knew how. Economic policy is everybody gets rich by Jan 21, and since policy is whatever Mr Obama says it is, it is as smart as he is. Hillary! needs to publish another ghostwritten book. 'We can make cookies out of dirt.'

I agree with you. She’s been in politics a lot longer than he has and can afford to be patient.

BO is arrogant, a man so incompetent he takes directions from handlers and must use a teleprompter. At some point he will come to believe his own PR and make a whole string of serious mistakes that she will exploit to her own advantage. But she must be careful.

I suspect there is a wealthy cabal behind BO, the kind of organization that will not recoil from physical fatalities if it satisfies their long term goal. Bill and Hill are aware of that cabal and are treading carefully. No use in ending up dead!

She is smaller in influence, but bigger in pantsuits.

Ugh. That goes without saying. I just want to see her "dog his footsteps", as my grandmother used to say. I want her to be a thorn in his side every chance she gets. And goodness knows she can do it! You are right, SatinDoll, that she has been in this game far too long to let Junior end her White House hopes for good. She's probably a "revenge is a dish best served cold" kinda gal. She may well work behind the scenes to undermine his efforts. Here's hoping!

Thank you for saying that. I have been saying that M rules the roost, runs the show, and if you tick her off, she will kick you right out and won’t ever let you back in.

I suspect she can carry a grudge longer than any other living person can.

And I still say she, along with the handlers and the MSM, are fully responsible for the One’s rise to power. On his own initiative, I don’t think he could have gone the distance.

I don’t care what M said about O using his own ‘power’. Without a teleprompter, 500 advisors and a wife with grand ambitions (and a whole boatload of money) he is an empty suit.

It is early yet, but, things seem to be shaping up to a fully engaged former Clinton White House. I wondered what kind of deals were made between the Clintons and Obama. You know there were deals and I never for once thought it was all about getting Hills campaign debt funded.

Personally, I don’t think Hillary has a chance winning the White House in four years. Not that big of difference between Hill and Obama, especially considering the number of key Clinton players showing up in the transition team and being bantered around as cabinet appointees.

I even believe Biden was part of a compromise deal. Big give away was when former Clinton backer Geraldine Ferraro went on Fox hinting and suggesting Biden. Remember, she had been called a racist by the Obama camp. Some even suggested she would defect, PUMA style. She knew something or was pushing for Biden as part of that compromise.

Supreme Court Judge...highly possible. President...very unlikely.

I am still wondering about the PUMAs. Most of them seemed very intelligent and very honest about their feelings about Obama. But..............

The swimmer has insisted that her heinous have NOTHING NOTHING NOTHING to do with any health care proposals put before congress.

Seems to me that the message has been sent to the Klinton’s.

Let’s see how they react.
