President-elect Barack Obama called Nancy Reagan this afternoon to apologize for a joke about her having heald "séances" in the White House, an Obama aide said.
“President-elect Barack Obama called Nancy Reagan today to apologize for the careless and off handed remark he made during today’s press conference," said transition spokeswoman Stephanie Cutter. "The President-elect expressed his admiration and affection for Mrs. Reagan that so many Americans share and they had a warm conversation."

Most of Obama's followers saw the dig, but not the apology.

Obama’s comments were racist! (I don’t really believe it, but since anyone can destroy anyone else in this country just by caling anything they say racist, I might as well make the accusation).

I am no authority on seances or mediums.....I went to one seance on mescaline at an antebellum graveyard in 1975 and soon realized the medium was just there to try to get into teenaged hippie chick’s bell bottom jeans and was a fakir. They were trying to hook up with this plantation mistress whose young husband had been killed in a duel down in NOLA when they were newlyweds....mossy trees, full moon....1820s church....prefect environment...
With Obama, NOTHING is anything but political expediency. This is the kind of thing that Nancy Reagan eats up, and she is a nice person who attributes niceness to everybody. He needs her goodwill to get us conservatives on board.

Hard to believe that he’s not even in office and not even officially elected and already committing major faux pas.
Being president means that you have to be very aware of what you’re saying at all times, slip ups like this are no good. I probably wouldn’t be a good President for that very reason.
At least Obama didn’t reveal what was told in his intelligence briefing when asked- that’s certainly a point of positivity. And apologizing to Mrs. Reagan was the only thing he could do after the cat was out of the bag, so that was the right thing as well

This guy is gonna have to learn how to think on his feet, and grow up REAL quick.
