When Stevens is expelled, Palin should appoint a hard-line conservative successor. The Senate doesn’t lead anywhere, Obama notwithstanding. She should stay as Governor, make that state prosper as the others decline, get re-elected overwhelmingly and then be ready.

In the mean time, she should do what Reagan did, brush up on the issues with a weekly radio address.

Because you don’t get your presidents from Capitol Hill.

She should remain a Governess until her next run for president.

Slice off the McCain from your bumper stickers and leave Palin in place to show your support.

That would at least spare her the Gubernatorial campaign, which as some FReepers suggested, could be a calender-wise hindrance for a 2012 Presidential run. As Senator she can beef up politcally and easily start off campaigning for 2012. On the other hand she probably prefers to stay in Alaska and serve as Governor, which isn’t only more satisfying but also not corrupting ones character... staying too long in DC can do that.

I support her anyway all the way to the White House.

Not if she is at least half as smart as I think she is.

She is better staying Gov. (a executive position), for 1-1/2 to two terms. After that, run for Pres. or Senator.

In addition, she would be even more mercilessly ravaged for such a stunt as appointing herself.

How can you keep her up on the farm when she’s had a taste of the big city? C’mon down Sarah, and give us real hope in D.C.

Totally agree, Palin cannot be effective from the U.S. Senate.
Stay home, shoot Moose and travel extensively in the Rust Belt.

Bad idea.
I don’t want Gov Palin in a Dingy Harry Reid US Senate(with 15% approval), where McPain is far more concerned about “reaching across” to the Dims, and bending over to be screwed, and pushing amnesty for illegals, than in standing up to the Comunist agenda of Comrade Obambi.
Much better for her to be the very popular (80% approval) Chief Executive of Alaska, then mount a strong challenge to Comrade Stalin come 2012.

I HOPE Mr. Bridges holds on to a lead and Sarah Palin replaces him as things unfold.

It will set her up well for 2012.

All things happen for a reason.

Right.

Plus the Senate is totally NOT Sarah Palin’s personality.

She is one who needs to be in charge, not 1 of 100.
