Mitt Romney offers his advice to Barack Obama, and his views on labor unions, federal bailouts, Detroit, protectionism, and America's debts.
Any management advice for the next president?
The unions have helped Barack Obama. They will hope to be paid back. I'm particularly concerned that organized labor would call on Barack Obama to pass the card check program. This removes from American workers the right to the secret ballot in deciding whether or not to accept a union. This legislation would do more to harm America's long-term competitiveness than almost anything I can imagine. It would be a partisan payback for organized labor but it would come with devastating consequences for the nation.
What concerns you the most about the economy right now? Any dangers lurking in the global economy that we didn't hear much about during the campaigns?
Far too little attention was paid to America's long-term competitive position during the campaign. I see four major economic strategies at play in the world today: the first is ours. It combines freedom and free enterprise.
The second is China's. It combines free enterprise with authoritarianism.
The third is Russia's. No longer is Russia's plan for dominance based upon industrial capacity but rather upon controlling energy throughout the world...
The fourth strategy is represented by radical violent jihad. The intent of the jihadists is to cause the collapse of the other three, such that the "hidden Imam" or the Caliphate remains the last man standing.
The real challenge for America is how to strengthen our competitive position so that our economy outperforms those of the other three. If we're successful, freedom will be preserved for the world. If we're unsuccessful, the results are unthinkable.

As a preemptive to the MSM and certain RDS-ers trying to link Romney to the anti-Palin rumors. Michelle Malkin was on Fox this morning nameing names. An ex Palin insider as well are both saying it was the McCain camp, Nicole Wallace, etc. We need Palin and Romney and many more conservatives in the years to come.

I think Romney needs to go to hell.
“I think Romney needs to go to hell”
Could you list some specific reasons?
BTW, why can't you go to your grandmothers funeral and release your birth certificates?
He and his aids pissed and moaned when he didn’t veepee selection.
He said he wasn’t interested in cabinet position, took his football and went home.
He didn’t lift a finger to help McCain in Michigan or out west untill it was too late.
His aids, according to TAS, trashed Pailn.
George Wallace was the AIP candidate in 1968. I don’t think the name will go over well.
Mitt ran companies that produced stuff. Obama’s “Green Jobs” will turn geld into drek.
Somebody needs to school the “Mittster” on conservative fiscal theories, especially the one where you do not redistribute the wealth.
Always remember, this clown was an avid supporter of the socialist bailout bill.
“I’m particularly concerned that organized labor would call on Barack Obama to pass the card check program. This removes from American workers the right to the secret ballot in deciding whether or not to accept a union.”
I’m glad Romney is talking about this, we need others to join in and make a lot of noise about this. It will be really hard to stop this now, but we should fight as hard as possible, sometimes it is possible bring some blue dog Democrats around.
“First, America must substantially improve our education system. We’ve fallen behind, particularly in areas of math and science.”
Translated into English:
First, we must persuade the Left-Wing, near-Communist NEA to go completely against its self-interest, and allow meaningful reforms from top to bottom in government schools, including privatization of vast numbers of government schools, massive property tax relief, and ultimately the complete end of labor union involvement in so-called “education.”
There—doesn’t trip off the tongue quite so easily, does it, Mr. Smoothie?
Or back to Michigan...perhaps Detroit. They're one and the same. Whatever, Mitt Roimney needs to just go away and make way for the new generation of true Conservatives.
A very good interview. Thank you for posting. I was going to post this later.
lets not forget the disasterous massachusetts health care fiasco...
But by all means, be sure to forget that the plan was changed substantially by the liberal Mass legislature before being enacted into law. That way, you can more easily blame Mitt for the whole thing.
Obama looks like a schoolboy compared to Romney. Just when we needed freemarket thinkers with real world economic experience like Romney, we get a guy that’s never run so much as a lemonade stand and who had is formative political ideology molded by “marxist professors.” God help us.
