Liberal Attack Dogs: Rep. Rahm Emanuel and Sen. Charles Schumer
July 6, 2006 The Los Angeles Times July 5, 2006 edition featured an article about the tactics used by two powerful Democrats to attack the Bush Administration to regain control of the House or Senate in November.
The article describes the behind the scenes work of Rep. Rahm Emanuel (D-IL), head of the House Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY), head of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.
According to the Times, both men have deployed tactics reminiscent of the smoke-filled room of yore. They have hand-picked candidates, crafted campaign themes, set fundraising goals and micromanaged staff hiring decisions for candidates around the country.
The Times notes of Emanuel, Emanuels reputation for political ruthlessness earned him the nickname Rahmbo, an image reinforced by a legendary episode when he sent a dead fish to a pollster who displeased him. Emanuel has also worked for Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley and served as a senior aide to President Bill Clinton.
Senator Schumer is described as a dogged fundraiser and overbearing in how he operates. As a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Schumer has been a relentless critic of President Bushs judicial nominees.

LOL!! No offense taken (I’ve been suffering for 2,000 years...don’t you think I’m tough-skinned?).
Call me silly, but I can't get excited about a girly man who does that.
sw
Doesn’t offend this Jew. There’s no other voting bloc that votes more often against their own self-interest than my fellow Jews.
Wouldn’t he be more like Hyman Roth.
“Thanks, I’ll be here all week!”
Good point, a Meyer Lansky-like character.
The dead fish conjured up the famous “Luca Brasi sleeps with the fish” line.
"Leave the gun, take the Knish."
True...very true.
I’m another one. I cannot look at my liberal coreligionists anymore (luckily almost all my Jewish friends are conservatives). 77% of Jews voted for Obamanation. DisGUSting.
The GOP has become the political equivalent of Fredo.
...and we won’t forget to tip the waitresses.
Enjoy the veal too!
Welcome to FR! I’m a member of the Glorious Language Squad! (Not.) I should have checked your sign-in date and modified my tone accordingly. Have a good run here.
77% ??? That is very, very sad and disturbing. Obama sits in the pews for 20 years with a blatantly ant-Semitic pastor, surrounds himself with the likes of Bonior, Khalidi and McPeak, waffles on a united Jerusalem, and my people go out and vot for hm in droves.
I hate to have to say it but, unless there is video of Rahm slamming that steak knife into the table, this is a non-starter.
The pitfalls of the YouTube era..........
Having a father who knew how to plant bombs and pull a trigger doesn’t make the ballerina tough. Actually, the ballerina is just a bully - and gets away with it not because he is tough but because he has a mob around him.
Things didn’t turn out too good for Luca Brasi.....
And the Democrats have become the Marx Brothers.
You didn’t.
Meyer Lansky, Gurrah Shapiro, Bugsy Siegel, and Lepke Buchalter used to joke that they were the Kosher Nostra branch of Luciano’s Commission.
If you study the history of the Mafia in the United States, there’s always been a close association between the Italian and Jewish gangsters.
They mutually hated the Irish Mobs.
Especially in Chicago. Besides his Italian lieutenants such as Frank Nitti, Phil D’Andrea, Mops Volpe, et. al, Capone’s financial wizard was Jake “Greasy Thumb” Guzik and one of his transporation and shipping geniuses was Oskar Kullak.
They waged a six-year war with the Irish North Side Mob led first by Deanie O’Bannion and then Bugs Moran....culminating in a garage on Clark St on February 14th, 1929.
And, a book I read about the Jewish mob said that the hitters who dressed up as cops for the St Valentine’s Day Massacre were Jews from Minneapolis’ Purple Gang. And he was “Greasy Thumbs” Guzik becasue none of Capone’s money ever stuck to his fingers.
