I am growing a ping list for news of Metro Philly/Delaware Valley area; Anybody that wants to be on or off the list please let me know via e-mail or just reply to this post.

So within 48 hours of the Obama miracle 2 major eastern city mayors have decided to announce budget shortfalls, rolling back or suspension of tax reductions and service cuts. Yet, nowhere in neither Nutter's nor Bloomberg's statement do I see one word about reducing the size of the bureaucracy of government.

These people will never learn. They will have to endure the closing of rec centers, the laying off of police and fire personnel, rising wage taxes and municipal service fees.

All that being said, I have not one ounce of sympathy for the residents of Philly or NY. They elect these people over and over, they elect the same types of people for President, Senator and Congress. Suffer in your self-made misery. I have enough misery in NJ without worrying about the decline of Phila. to a second rate, has-been city.

To address the even bigger figure, scheduled city-funded cuts in the business and wage taxes will be frozen until fiscal 2015,

Someone please explain to me what a city funded tax cut is. Taking less of someone elses money is not a city expenditure.

I fear we will see this tactic used across the board, up to and including the expiration of the Bush tax cuts and the "suspension" of the promised cuts for "95% of working families."

It’s the same old rat dictionary that claims that confiscating less money from people amounts to “giving” them something. The Republicans consistently fail to holler louder than the rats when exposing such rat lies.

Maybe someday we’ll find an effective communicator.

Nah. We're on 5th rate. By the way, I am already seeing attitude from Bambi's constituents.

Overcoming my paranoia, I can say deep South Philly east of Broad 4 nights a week and Manayunk the rest. (long story) Too old to really enjoy Manayunk. If you're under 30, it's babe heaven.

If you would have said "Kensington" or "the Northeast" you would have been the butt of my jokes forever.

Lots of the inbred parochials in the NE seem to have voted for Obama, despite their "strong dislike" of their swarthier bretheren on the other side of the Blvd.

Us folks from the NYC area make fun of Philly for a reason. It was a great place 200 years ago.

I could take being the butt of your jokes. You're one of the few around here who know what the hell you're talking about. Why don't you find a permanent residence and run for office.
