Police alleged a 70-year-old man attacked others in Kingston bar after learning election outcome.
KINGSTON (PA) Upset over Barack Obamas victory in Tuesdays presidential election, a 70-year-old man took out his anger at people inside a Cherry Street bar, police said.
Police allege Alexander J. McKenna, of South Landon Avenue, Kingston, bit the nose of a man and swung his cane, striking two people inside Pizzles Bar early Wednesday morning.
McKenna was charged with three counts of simple assault and harassment, and one count each of disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. He was released on $2,500 unsecured bail.
Attempts to reach McKenna on Wednesday were unsuccessful. A woman who twice answered his telephone said he was sleeping and hung up.
According to the criminal complaint:
Police responded to Pizzles Bar at about 2:20 a.m. for the report of a man swinging a cane at patrons. Police said they found McKenna on the ground yelling profanities.
Joe Blight and his brother Ronnie Blight told police they were inside the bar when McKenna walked in, sat down at the bar and consumed a few alcoholic drinks, according to the criminal complaint.
McKenna screamed obscenities about President-elect Obama winning the election, the Blights told police.
They claimed they attempted to calm McKenna and make friends with him.
McKenna walked across the bar and bit Joe Blights nose, the criminal complaint says.
Ronnie Blight claimed he attempted to push McKenna off his brother, according to the criminal complaint, when McKenna swung his cane and hit Ronnie Blight several times in the back.
Bar owner Ellen Lehman was also struck several times by the cane, police said.
McKenna was subdued by Lehman and the brothers until police arrived.
He admitted to police that he was drunk and took out his anger on the Blight brothers because Obama won the presidency, the criminal complaint says.
A preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled for Nov. 13 in Central Court.

Your reply is WAY over the top, and reflects badly on this site. Nothing like giving the other side ammunition to indulge in their worst stereotypes of conservatives.
Pointless and ill-considered comments like yours are an embarrassment to all of us here. I have asked the moderator to remove it, and hope he/she does.

It snot who you nose that counts, but who nose you.
McKeena worked in the local olfactory most of his life, so this was bound to happen sooner or later.
I think Nostrildomus foresaw this.
Let me guess, he was a veteran ticked off that he fought in a war for nothing to let some socialist Commie bastard win the Presidency.
BOOGER!
It is uplifting to see freepers getting their sense of humor back.
I have actually been alughing today
LOL! This reminds me of that story of the roving bands of elderly women beating up young men during the Sarah Palin visit to Laconia NH. Supposedly, these two young guys were standing with Obama signs when they were "viciously" attacked by a group of "older" women.
WTF are you talking about?
Oh no, the Republican riots have started.
