WASHINGTON — A powerful new lobbying force is coming to town: Barack Obama's triumphant army of 3.1 million Internet-linked donors and volunteers.
In a mass e-mail thanking them, written moments before his Grant Park victory speech, Obama put them on notice. "We have a lot to do to get our country back on track, and I'll be in touch soon about what comes next," he wrote.
Many are eager. "I'm going to be sitting at the phone, asking, 'What do you want me to do next? I'm ready,' " said volunteer Courtney Hood, 37, a mother of three from Owings, Md.
How Obama will use his ardent laptop-armed cadres is unclear. So is the extent to which they'll rally behind his priorities, press him for their own or both.
Joe Trippi, the Internet politics guru whose computer geeks made Howard Dean a contender in 2004 and who went on to design Obama's socially networked campaign machine, offers a provocative and educated guess.
Trippi predicted that Obama would use his forces, first and foremost, to intimidate congressional foes of his agenda, rally his allies and forge "one of the most powerful presidencies in American history."
Certainly, Obama reaches the White House with the biggest, best organized, fastest-acting grass-roots army in the history of presidential campaigning.
Moreover, because his Internet operation was miles ahead of Republican John McCain's, Obama's liberal-to-libertarian electronic activists are in a position to dominate the new political medium much as conservative Republicans dominate talk radio.
As for political utility, many thousands of volunteers such as Hood will be deployable within hours, with great precision and at almost no cost, thanks to the campaign's state-of-the-art information-management systems.

Oh I am so scared! Geesh, sounds like a veiled threat like that’s supposed to shake me up or something. Anyone can start a yahoo group and make postings and start internet lies and can be sued too. And this is the kind of quote that needs to be saved for the next election cycle for commercials and also for the civilian gendarmes/brownshirts that his highness wants to create. The thing about the next election, a well coordinated well documented campaign will be needed with campaigning needing to start soon with speeches, comedy, books etc before it blows up to the public level for voting. It takes awhile for the masses to get what is going on. Most Americans truly resent spying and privacy intrusions—something that was not brought up in this election cycle and the Emperor’s vote on this issue is damming. And with people beng hypnotized, it will take extreme documentation to get them to snap out of it. This is one of those quotes that can be later used against his highness to show he is crossing the line into facism. But it has to start now, like where is the RNC chair yelling in the press on something like this—what is the RNC chair doing? Waiting until the last minute when people are oversaturated with TV commercials when they won’t listen is too late.
The question is how bad will it get before we have to start shooting?

Funny how they pushed the myth that a secular society like Baathist Irraq could not work with islamic terrorists when we can see by his own campaign and career that secular marxists be they jew, liberation theologists, white or black, can mingle with heretical human-worshipping wannabe muslims as well as true fundamentalist jihadists.
If you read about Soros' past man made disasters in other countries you'll recognize what has happened to us with the mortgage thing and what will come next. His cohorts have wanted 4 dollar a gallon gas since the seventies, and they want to reduce everyone but themselves to dependency on the state either by impoverishing them, by hooking them on drugs they will profit from, and through the control of medicine. He's a believer in using total destruction to create his so-called open societies, his version of "tough love" is designed to gut a country. And we are in the crosshairs, "my friend."
