Post Election Open Letter To Sen. John McCain
Savvyguy

Posted on 11/04/2008 11:41:48 PM PST by savvyguy

Below is what I just emailed Sen. McCain and his campaign director, advisers, whether they like it or not.

Dear Senator McCain,

We wish to thank you for your decades of service to this country! You are a real hero and a gentleman, seen through your concession speech. We admire your tenacity and endurance, at your age!

We see No REAL Mandate on Obama’s victory!!

You are SO close to clinching it! Few pundits are talking about the thin 3% edge Obama had in popular votes. Almost half of the people distrust him. There‘re still a lot of us who could organize for a strong come back years from now!

It’s easy to start the blame game & there’re too many factors which contribute to your unfortunate loss.

If we are objective, we need to ask, if we did not have this financial storm, could you have won? I have to answer, Yes!

If Bush had not been such an unpopular President and you are in the same party, could you have won? SURE!

Then if MSM had not be so lopsided in cheering for and aiding Obama, could you have won? Yes!

If Obama had not raised that huge a war chest, could you have won? Yes again!

If Obama was not a black man, everything else being equal, could you have won? Likely!

If you have been in the body of a 50 year old and could talk half as well as the Messiah, could you have won, possibly, according to exit poll.

If half of the Americans have not been so brain-dead, brainwashed or greedy (to get government welfare), could you have won it, again, yes!

Secondarily, we also feel that that the following factors contributed to your loss. Please be open-minded.

In hind sight, and to prevent future repeats, would you concede that perhaps if you have a better organized, campaign with a brilliant strategy and a coherent theme like Barak’s change theme , it could have made a big difference? Instead we hear of internal in fightings.

Strategy and issues wise, it drove us nuts that either your campaign advisers did not pass on outsiders' recommendation or you don’t tune in enough to hear the talk shows or ask your staffs,” What are my base saying to me?”

I am a believer that every campaign has its blind spots, and would do well to designate a staff to listen & gather recommendation, to ring up during staff meetings.

We wish you had taken a string stand on illegal immigration. Exit polls show some 78% of Hispanics voted for the other guy!

We know yo had a cozy relationship in the past with the MSM, but rarely we hear you point out how they are engaged in a news blackout, aiding & abetting your opponent.

Had you listen to hundred of conservatories opinion makers begging you to just bring back up Rev. Wright, or to bring up Obama’s numerous other leftists friends, the situation would have been different. Why zero on Ayers only? Instead we heard you were so afraid to bring up Rev. Wright for fear you will lose Powell's endorsement. By the time you decide to bring it up the last week, it's too little, too late. Big Miscaculation!

We wish you had defined socialism, as many younger Americans have no idea why it’s bad!

I wish you had held a press conference and raise all the issues about Obama being a huge security risk, his numerous leftists alliance, his numerous communist & terrorist endorsements, his failure to produce many basic documents, including a real birth certificate. I PLEADED with yo with numerous emails. They seem to fall on deaf ears? We rarely hear you adopt many valid points that outsiders bring to you.

You almost lost your conservative base, had it not been for your wisdom in picking Gov. Palin!

Sen. McCain, “Your callng Obama a “decent man whom I just happened to have some disagreement with” was your biggest gaffe, and we could see Obama laughing! You have no idea how much that hurt us, upset us and demoralize us, your base!!

Then did anybody among your staffs bring up the need to go on offensive earlier, instead of waiting till September to raise Ayers, Rashid. Issues? Why did the word Socialist start appearing in the final 2 weeks? You must have known that a long time.

I feel perhaps whoever did opposition research for you was not very savvy? Did you guys ever checked out a website like Free Republic where there’s a ton of good solid research?

There’s so much you could bring up but we keep hearing the same old phrase, & argument. Frankly, many of us almost fell asleep during the debates. To your credit, you improve with each one. You promised to take of your gloves at the third debate, but your glove is still too soft! Borrow Chuck Norris’!

Who has been prepping you for those debates? Sigh. Millions of us are so nervous each time. “Will he finally mention it? Does he have the guts to…?”

Some of us think you are too nice and tolerant, perhaps it would have been wise to clean up your staffs, should have look Obama right in the eye and called him,” Denier-in –chief!”

I wish you had unleashed Gov. Palin rather than allow the handlers to muzzle her. I pleased with you to put Sarah Palin on every radio and TV Ads then on! It would have wooed many and won hearts & souls!

For the life of me, why won’t you humble yourself & call on Rush Show? Why did you never get on Oreily’s show, he has 6 million listeners? He invited you recently, instead you went on Larry King, with 1 million listeners!

You have missed some many opportunities to seize the moment/issue (ex. the Odinga alliance in Kenya) to put Obama on the defensive, like the endorsement and known friendship with Louis Farrakhan, but you seem to be so afraid of being called names like,” Racist” Why did you run for this office if you are so scared the kitchen might get too hot?

Please do not take this as a personal attacks on you. We all are learning from this campaign. I believe I speak for millions of Conservatives out there, who have spent countless hours helping you. We shall fight on!

Respectfully submitted

Your conservative grassroots

John McCain is probably the greatest American I know. That having been said his decision not to bring up Wright...fatal. Absolutely fatal.

Say what you want about George W. Bush, but George W. Bush circa 2000 would beat the crap out of Obama. He would’ve thrown the kitchen sink, dishwasher, chairs— everything at Obama.

McCain fought with an arm and a leg behind his back. But that’s not really an attack on him. In a way, a perverse way, it’s a compliment. It speaks to his honor, and his class.

But being honorable and being classy doesn’t work with these thugs. And now we’re all going to pay for it. Nevermind the taxes. It’s free speech, it’s the Supreme Court— all lost for a generation, if not more.

In summation:
You ignored your base. You are an idiot for doing so. Now you are a loser. Bye.

McCain’s biggest gaffe, actually, was saying he believed the fundamentals of the economy were strong.
Had he not been given terrible advice to play economic Pollyanna, then he wouldn’t have had to run around like a chicken with its head cut off for the next 3 weeks trying to dig himself out of it. That is when it went south for him, and he never recovered.

Dear McCain,

We warned you not to abandon conservativism - and you and your smartest people in the room ignored us.

We warned you Campaign Finance Reform was a bad idea. You backed it anyway. Nice that you’ve been defeated by the very “big money” you sought to get rid of.

We warned you that “reaching across the aisle” wasn’t going to work.

We were right.

Tomorrow you go back to work and continue to ignore us.

Enjoy being out everywhere in the Senate.

Real Conservatives

I wanted McCain to see this as the battle of the century-—one far greater than the war he fought in. I don’t think he every fully comprehended what was on the line and that we wanted someone who would go out and totally decimate the enemy of America who ran against him.

You are so right. McCain was handed this nomination and blew it.

Where McCain and the rest of the country missed the boat including Obama because he ran on the same message is this country needs leaders; not mediators.

One would be surprised as to what a good leader can do for you. Or maybe not.

It was never his base. He was and is an army of one. Gov. Palin kept it from being worse but as it is we lost IN, VA, FL, CO, maybe MO, OH, etc. McCain sucked.

But being honorable and being classy doesn’t work with these thugs.

Those are not exactly the words I would have used to describe the McCain campaign.

He's never ever given me a reason to vote for him, except selecting Governor Palin as his running mate. I don't want a President who's bipartisan about anything and sadly, that's what we appear to have gotten ... in the wrong direction.

The positive side out of all this is that if we hang in there and get a real conservative leader, we can make 2010 the same as 1994.

OK, folks, how about this?

Let’s find our 2012 candidate NOW, prep him or her, and get him or her started NOW on unseating Obama.

What do you say?

Who do you have in mind.

Sadly, I don’t see Palin as being up to it. For all the enthusiasm she supposedly generated, she didn’t provide much of anything in the way of votes.

I meant the base of the GOP. You are correct. Conservatives were never McCain’s base. Because of that, he is a loser. And he took us with him.

Agree with so much of your comments above. We need to really pick & prep the next one, carefully. I need to see whether my friend, Tom McClintock won his House race. He is such a fighter, so great in economics and budget, a straight-shooter, from Ca. He was ahead, last I checked.

Who would be great, besides Palin? One or two of those Governors? Someone younger, passinate, gutsy, not spineless.
Definitely, no more RINO! LOL

I have never seen such a stiffer dud than McCain.

He behaved like a mannequin, totally clueless and without a sense of timing or just being relaxed.

Didn't much act like a conservative or FIGHT. There was no FIGHT. It was all 'my friends' and gentlemanly.

He always gave the impression that he thought he was dealing with Thurston Howell III instead street thugs who would sell their mothers for power.

The GOP bigwigs are meeting on Thursday and they’re going to reelect the same phonies that got us into this mess. You know the type, really conservative during an Election— but immoral and moderate-to-liberal while they’re in DC.

If I want to put it in terms of technical campaign management, the McCain campaign had the worst opposition research effort I have can remember in a presidential campaign - could hardly think of a worse one.

The man emprisoned by communists for years apparently couldn't recognize one staring him in the face, running for U.S. President.

It's possible, but I highly doubt it. He'll soldier on, just as he's always done. (Can a Squid "soldier"? Well you know what I mean)
