As we all mortals must die, I pray that I may die for a just cause and by my own clear decision to defend what I believe is right.
That verse is from one of my favorite Blue Oyster Cult songs, “The Golden Age Of Leather”.
I do my best to keep it foremost in my mind, at all times.
It may be either the Celtic or Viking blood in my veins but a line from “The 13th Warrior” always struck me as the ultimate prayer to God, before any “battle”.
“Let me die well.”
I may be only a very small woman, but I hope to live up to those lines, when the time comes.
