How The Times followed a trail to find Barack Obama’s aunt

How The Times followed a trail to find Barack Obama’s aunt Ben Macintyre and James Bone in Boston

The trail that led to “Aunt Zeituni”, the relative of Barack Obama who was traced by The Times last week, started with Mr Obama’s memoir, one of the most widely read political autobiographies of all time.

The Democrat campaign has implied that the story might have come from Republican sources – “the American people are ... pretty suspicious of things that are dumped in the marketplace 72 hours before a campaign,” said Mr Obama’s chief strategist David Axelrod yesterday.

In fact, the story came from a book that has been read by millions, including just about everyone connected to the Obama campaign.

Dreams From My Father was first published in 1995, and the story of how Mr Obama returned to Kenya in 1988 to trace his roots has become the cornerstone of his political biography. Yet the US media appears to have overlooked the passage indicating that at least one relative of Mr Obama’s had moved to America and might still be there.

Two thirds of the way through the book Mr Obama’s half-sister talked about Africans who had emigrated to the West and were never heard of again, “like our Uncle Omar, in Boston . . . They’ve been lost, you see”.

A few pages later Mr Obama meets his step-grandmother, Sarah, for the first time in the village of Kogelo. On the walls of her hut are photographs of Omar, “the uncle who had left for America 25 years ago and never came back”. Touchingly, she asks the future presidential candidate if he has any news of Omar, her son and Mr Obama’s half-uncle.

The British press are doing the work that U.S. press neglects to do as they are too busy spinning the polls. The paranoid reaction of the Obama campaign by calling for an investigation about how the whereabouts of his Aunt were discovered reveals the overbearing tendencies of Obama to use government offices to retaliate against perceived enemies.

How dare they! President Obama will ban them from the White House and toss out any of their reporters! This sort of distraction can not be permitted in the New America where unity and harmony is the new order of the One. They must be like the good American Press and just print things OKed by Obama’s Press Leader. Once in office all of those who do not toe the line will be closed down by “Concerned Citizens of Acorn” for spreading lies about the new America. (sic)

Not exactly. Widely purchased, perhaps, but not read. If it were read, he would not be the candidate.

Hey, doing what our MSM won’t do - rather embarrassing isn’t it?

They’re too far in the tank.........

Better send this to the FBI, the Secret Service, the CIA, and the Federal Elections Commission. It is obviously a dirty trick to out a presidential candidate’s relatives.

I was just remembering Billy Carter and what an embarrassment he was to Jimmy, we would have been better off if Billy had been president.

Whatever the Democrat campaign may imply, there is nothing suspicious about the story or its timing. The only mystery, perhaps, is how so many people read Mr Obama’s book in the US without wondering what might have happened to the mysterious relative, lost in America.

Mystery solved. Our MSM didn't look at anything or anyone involved with Obama - they were afraid they might find something that would embarrass him.

Oh? I guess that would include stories about GW Bush's 30 year old DUI?
The American people are pretty suspicious of anything coming out of your mouth period.

1) How many other illegal alien relatives are here?

2) Seems the whole family lies to infidels.

Hmmm, I wonder why the Boston Globe wasn’t able to uncover this “mystery” - - it had to be figured out by a British newspaper.? I wonder why.

I believe it is because all of their investigative reporters are up in Alaska , checking out how Sarah Palin shoots wolves from a helicopter.

This is truly amazing that a UK paper brings us more investigative reporting that the US’ MSM

Big surprise. The Canada Free Press even does a better job of covering US news. And the MSM wonders where their readers have gone!

I watched the CNN Special on Obama last night. It says he and his mom moved to Indonesia when he was 6 from Hawaii, and he went to Catholic school for a while then a moslem school but it wasn’t a religious moslem school, which is bull because there is no such thing as secular in a moslem society. Anyway he said his mother woke him up every morning to teach him English. Why did he need to be taught English, he moved there from Hawaii.

Then later it says that when he went to Indonesia in 1995 his cousin translated for him when this aunt that is here now spoke to him. Then later on the campaign trail we read...Obama’s years living in Indonesia, moreover, have made him the most popular U.S. politician in Southeast Asia. When prominent Indonesians visit the U.S., the first person they want to meet is Obama, says Parnohadiningrat Sudjadnan, the Indonesian ambassador to the U.S. “Back home people think of him as one of us, or at least one who understands us,” he says, adding that they are delighted to find that Obama speaks passable Bahasa, the language spoken in Indonesia and Malaysia.

This mans history is a total fabrication. That is why it took so long to write the book. They had to create a history for him and try to make sure there were no holes in it. They failed miserably.

She’s eldely, how long has she been here, ‘illeagaly’. She’s in public housing in Roxbury I believe, on the doll I suspect, and does she get SS checks, from you and me. Does she have a false SS# since she’s illeagal.

If any of the above is true and I suspect it all is, BHO the merciful should sponsore his poor aunty and support her in his home in Chicago, if he really cared! Which he appently dose not.
