With a smiling Gov. Charlie Crist at her side, Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin kicked off a three-city bus tour of central Florida on Saturday by focusing on the financial concerns of the nearly three million Floridians over the age of 65.
Palin promised that she and John McCain will “keep our defining commitments to our senior citizens.” But she wasted little time on the Republican agenda and turned her sights, as usual, on Barack Obama, who has accused McCain of wanting to cut Medicare funding and place Social Security benefits in the stock market.
“Barack Obama goes around promising a new kind of politics,” she said, “but then he comes here to Florida and he tries to exploit the fears and the worries about Social Security and Medicare to our retirees and that is the oldest and cheapest kind of politics there is. And enough is enough of that.”

my kids went to a rally in VA today, and I watched and listened to the video. I swear it sounds like they’re saying John McCain, Not Hussein. I asked my kids...and all that was chanted was John McCain...because of the rhyme it could easily be confused.
However, my daughter thought chanting NOT Hussein was a great idea!!!
Obama ads are running claiming McCain is cutting Medicare and putting SS benefits in the stock market was reported last night - I forget which newscast I was watching. Glad to see Gov. Palin calling the Dems out on this.
Have they told the truth about anything in this campaign? And if they can’t present their positions honestly, what does that say about them as individual politicians and their position as a political party?

They are a disgrace! Scaring vulnerable people with lies and using fear to win an election. And then whining that it’s Republicans or conservatives who use fear to manipulate voters! I despise bullies and that’s what the Democrats have become - thugs!
Well, it’s getting to me. It is outrageous that they use scare tactics against a vulnerable segment of society to beneift themselves. They’ve become a thugocracy!!

If you accuse the other person *first*, you hope to inoculate yourself against the truth of what *you* are up to, later.
I’ve heard that term used before. Dems are quite skilled in using it but if people pay attention, they figure out it’s mostly BS.
