Sarah Palin embarked on a Pennsylvania bus tour Friday, kicking things off with a rally featuring Mike Ditka, a.k.a. da coach, pledging his support for da GOP ticket.

The former Chicago Bears coach was born in Pennsylvania and gave the crowd of a few thousand a pep talk just four days before Election Day. “Thing I know about Pennsylvania, you’re great people, you’re hardworking people-no nonsense people, and that’s what this is all about,” Ditka said.

Palin tried to make her own connection to this western Pennsylvania city, where golfer Arnold Palmer was born. “Now here is my connection with Latrobe. Todd and I, the first house we ever bought — we bought an $82,000 house in Wasilla, Alaska,” Palin said. “The name of the street: Arnold Palmer Dr. It is a nice small world. That’s awesome.”

Nice to see, but if he’d have stepped up to the plate when Jack Ryan withdrew from the Senate race we wouldn’t have Obama in the position to become President!

From Erika Bolstad with the Palin campaign in Latrobe, Penn. ... So if the election were held today, Piper Palin might just win — at least the Halloween costume contest. Piper, dressed as a snow princess, charmed the crowd here, as did baby Trig, dressed as elephant.

If only Ditka had run against Obama in 2004 when the ILGOP was searching for someone to replace Jack Ryan, we might not be in the situation we’re in right now...

You might remember the state GOP combine insulted him by announcing his candidacy before he had formally agreed. Typical IL GOP ineptitude. But of course the state GOP here is in the tank for Obama anyway.

IRRC a poll showed he indeed led Obama. Not to say after it was all said and done he would have won but maybe.
