“I don’t get it, either. How does one have the Holy Spirit dwelling within him and support the platform of killing unborn children?”

Similarly, I don’t understand how someone can have the Holy Spirit dwelling within him and support the death penalty.

I don't know how accurate this article is, but I have spoken with a few good Christians this year who believe Democrats are for the middle class, blah, blah, blah.

I've been thinking about this a lot and personally, I feel this is a bi-product of not "truth seeking", as so often I see in Christian lives. They want their ears tickled. We must study our Bibles and we must study the issues. It's laziness or pride, I guess. I don't know.

Thoughts?

Because they are two completely different things. Abortion is murder. The death penalty is not. Does that help you understand?

You cannot compare the two. It is like comparing an apple to a hamburger.

Remember, Jesus was hanging on the cross between two thieves, and they were all receiving capital punishment, yet Jesus did not say anything against the death penalty. He would have surely spoken out that the two should not be crucified with him, but he did not. If the death penalty was against God's law, then Jesus would have been GOING AGAINST the Father to allow the other two to be subjected to it.
