If These Numbers Are Right, You Can Almost Call Nevada For McCain Now
NRO ^ | October 30, 2008 | Jim Geraghty

Campaign Spot reader Laurence notes an interesting wrinkle in the post below about Nevada. The guy doing the exit poll of those who have already voted, with 7,147 responses, puts Obama ahead, 50 percent to 48 percent.

If Republicans were a lot more of the early voters, McCain would be nervous. If Democrats were a lot more of the early voters, Obama should be nervous. And if they were split even, a 50-48 Obama lead is in the neighborhood of what we would expect.

In Clark County, "through Sunday, 55 percent of early voters were Democrats, 29 percent Republicans."

"In Washoe County, 51 percent of the early voters through Sunday were Democrats, while 33 percent were Republicans."

Is Reid up for reelection?

Would be nice to see that guy retire.

Explanation is simple, Fauxbama doesn’t have and never had the support the MSM and national Polls have been trying to generate for him.

If this is true, then basically without picking up any states, all McCain needs for victory is to hold any one of those western states, NM,CO or IA (or flip NH, which is likely going to happen) and assuming he holds the eastern states that Bush carried he wins.

I believe McCain will do far better than that come election day, but just saying.

What I love about this is the MSM is going to be in the dumpster of history after this election.

They lost all credibility and they have no power.

Very true.

He barely hung on to win the Democratic primary and got hammered by Hillary in most of the late Primaries.

He is nothing but a media creation and will be exposed as such on election day.

Exit polling is not very accurate! During the primaries in the East Obama was looking really good on the exit polls but lost to Hillary!

Really fascinating stuff -- and definitely not the tune that Obama wants to be hearing in Nevada! I wish this weren't so apples-to-oranges, though... the exit polls are state-wide, but the party IDs are in the urban areas, which tilt more Democratic than rural and suburban Nevada does. I'd love to know what the statewide party balance is, or what the county by county exit polls look like -- does anyone have stats on either of those?

I never did understand the posting police here.

Most of us cannot monitor all of the news that gets posted here so we miss most of them.

So what if there are a few dupes or trips. I for one, would have missed this story if it weren't for a re post and being that I'm here in Nevada, it's kind of important to me.

Exactly. I say Hussein gets 29% of the popular vote.

Ok, I may be overdoing it a bit, but he is going to get trounced! Hillary's supporters will see to it.

It’s on the side bar. If all you look at is ‘Latest Comments’ you will miss 80% of what gets posted here.

It just plain works better if articles aren’t posted multiple times. What if someone has a real good insite about an article; it would only get posted on one of threads and everyone yacking on the other would miss it.

You probably see no problem with people voting twice or three times too...just kidding.
