If you really think about it the assaults on persons and property are in the long run a good thing. It lets people learn what is meant by the use of the terms “tolerance,” “equal rights,” “room at the table,” “the big tent,” etc. etc. My doctrine is hard but it will help prepare us for what might be coming.

San Diego Police arrested someone in Pacific Beach last week for stealing signs but dropped the charges when the suspect agreed to return the signs. So, if I steal a candy bar at my local 7-11; can I get off the shoplifting charge if I return the candy bar after I am caught? Is there some magical law for stealing property, that applies only to signs in San Diego?
