It was one of those many “gaps” I mentioned that needed to be filled in over time.

This gap was filled with BS.

You can return to the country once the border has been secured

I have a problem with this part. I think you should have said, "You can get in line behind all of the people who did NOT break the law and come here illegally, and if we have enough slots after they get their turn, you can return to the country once the border is secured."

Hey, I was recently told on FR that there is no Anchor baby issue because of a 1996 ruling. That doesn’t feel true, but I can’t prove it’s not.

"A path to citizenship"...doesn't support "total amnesty."

UGH. Another loser on this issue.

“...so you support a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants?”

..I didn't see any details of what a path to citizenship would be. And how that would be in harmony with a complete rejection of amnesty which demands people follow the rules.

When you are in the second chair, you do not get to lay out your own agenda.

Thanks for the ping

Well, she’s the one who said Mccain said she did not have to “check her opinions at the door”.

Well, I have a hunch that Mccain liked what he saw during his vetting process on this. But hey, we’ll see. Right now they are dropping in the polls. The RCP average of polls has grown to a gap of 7.2%.

As Phyliis Schlafly and many others, including me, have suggested to McCain’s campaign is that they need to really take off the gloves and go for ALL of Obama’s past associations, his missing records, his mentors, his ties to the New Party and the CPUSA, his lack of birth certificate, etc etc.

If they do not, they will lose, unless a third party manages to bring Obama down. But a third party does not get the coverage that a McCain proclamation would get.

We’ll see now how much they want to win. Or would they rather lose with ‘faux’ honor.

She has to say what she has to say for now just win the election.

The problem is that we don't know if she is just siding with McAmnesty on this or if these are her true feelings.

I find it very hypocritical that she says in one breath that people have to follow the rules and in another she supports a pathway to citizenship for those here. Any 'pathway' insults and is not fair to those abiding by the rules - millions waiting all over the world to come here.

If you think 4 years of Marxist Obama will cause some people to turn conservative for the 2012 election, Flash! there won’t be a next election.

Even the dems cannot change our constitution in just 4 years. There will be more elections. Carter got us Reagan, BTW.

No where in the answer does she say she supporters amnesty.

No politician states they are for amnesty any more. Even Bush and McCain use the PC term 'pathway to citizenship'. Just as Palin did.

John McCain was not my choice for President in the primary, but he certainly is now. In fact, the more I think about him, his record and his history of taking his own stand, I think he might just be the right man for the times.

Did you see the utube video of his interview after Vietnam? Very moving. And boy, was he a handsome man!

Immigration hardliners consider path to citizenship to be amnesty. Just like they consider touchback to be amnesty. Just like they consider Bush's amnesty to guest worker to be amnesty.

All those ARE amnesty, no matter how to try to spin it. When someone who has broken our laws to come here and stay here (for decades in many cases) gets to cut in line before the millions waiting all over the world that have filled out paperwork, paid their fees, and done the right thing - that IS amnesty. Period.

..my take on why McCain chose her is a little different

I think we agree that when he got the nomination that the election was effectively over.

He threw a "Hail Mary" by embracing someone who energized the base and probably didn't share his compromising, bi-partisan view of government.

I do not believe in a hundred years that he anticipated the magnitude of her effect on the whole campaign--no one in the world did.

This interview only tells me that she is not going publicly debate the immigration issue with her boss to Jorge Ramos, who is nothing more than an agent for the Mexican government IMO.

At this stage of the game, I'm willing to FIRST keep that Marxist and his group away from the White House and then fight the fight regarding the issues we both are very passionate about. A vote for Sarah is not a vote for Rudy by my judgment. I still believe she is one of us.

I'm still hurting over DH going down. I never in my life put as much energy, time and money into a candidate. Love ya bro--we'll continue the fight
