I am voting Barr and making a stand against the US’s slide into socialism. With McCain/Obama it’s either going to be a fast slide or a faster slide...my vote will say I’m against it altogether. The left lived through 8 years of Bush to emerge stronger than ever...we can live through 4 of 0bama.

Then you are speeding up the slide. That makes no sense.

I sincerely hope you are at least supporting a Republican Senator and Representative, and all conservatives at the local level.

Bob Barr is as nutty as they come and voting for him makes you nuttier than him. Why don’t you just tell us the truth that you really will be voting nobama? Facing the truth will make you feel better!

“I am voting Barr and making a stand against the US’s slide into socialism.”

No, you are NOT — you are HELPING a swift slide of the US into socialism by aiding and abetting the socialist takeover of the US by the triumvirate. Obama will thank you.

that's just crap. you sound like a quitter. i don't mean to be harsh, but you still have to support conservative values. a vote for a third party is a vote for OBAMA PELOSI.

third party's have had chance after chance to make it, yet fail to sell their message to a big enough majority to win anything. Perot was a once in a lifetime gig.

the only way to win is to control the GOP. i don't know how weaksauce McCain made it past the primary, but he's WAY better than PELOSI. Good Lord!

the problem with the GOP is that they don't have a mean bone in their body's. most newly elected republicans get to DC and are shocked to find what ghouls the Dems really are, and I'll bet none know how to approach people who are the devil incarnate.

democrats are like serial killers. can you reason with a serial killer?

the solution is educating -AND SCREENING- GOP candidates, so they don't fall prey to dems scrounging thru their underwear drawer, garbage, tapping phones, and doing FBI & IRS background checks on ever GOP member.

You and I would never think to do such things. we were raised with morals, values, a conscience. dems have to classes on how to pretend to be these things.

As someone who voted for Marrou in 1992, I can definitely appreciate your idealism. However, there is much more at stake now, principly the replacement of three US Supreme Court Justices. While the Obama Presidency may only last four years, his legacy of placing people like Cornel West on the Supreme Court will affect us for decades to come.

You are not really voting but committing an exercise of self delusion.

Bob Barr is not a candidate, he is but a bitter pretender.

To vote, you must cast a ballot for Obama or McCain. You have drunk the Kool ade and it has warped your sensibility.

And you believe there will be meaningful free and fair elections when they take over? Stalinists don’t do elections or democracy. It won’t be the first time that dictators got elected. Remember Hitler? There won’t be any elections that our side will win. They will be fixed and they will claim they have the mandate to do what they want. This country is finished. This is the last election where we may still have a chance to reverse things.

Your vote won't “say” anything, except that you wasted your time standing in line. Contrary to your “we survived Bush” position, I'm not so sure we will survive B.O.’s.
Bush, despite incessant betrayal and back stabbing from all corners, has defended and strengthened this country.
His mistakes have been primarily in thinking that reaching across the aisle would garner anything except having his hand bitten and his back stabbed. I'm not crazy about McCain either. He is deluded in the same manner. But both men have basic honorability in their character. B.O., Reid, Pelosi, Dodds, Shumer et al are not just people that have different points of view. They are corrupt, power-hungry elitists that have an agenda. They have no underlying moral principles. They will load the Supreme Court and all judicial appointments with their leftist buddies, and their takeover will be absolute and complete.

At least be honest with yourself, and us, and admit that your vote is actually one that McCain lost.

Ordinarily I would agree with you, itsPatAmerican. In fact, I was not going to vote for McCain. And for the reasons you outlined. I was going to vote for a conservative candidate or write my name in.

However, the logic for that disappeared when McCain picked Palen for VEEP. She is a genuine conservative. This the first time we’ve had a conservative candidate in place since Reagon.

I ask you, sir, why would you jeapardize Palin because of your angst about McCain and the Pubbie Party? There is no doubt in my mind that this country, big as it is, would survive the Marxist Onada. But why should it have to? Moreover, he would do far greater near and long term damage than would McCain.

I understand your frustration. Believe me, I feel the same way. However, I look at it as voting for Palen and not McCain. There is no doubt that McCain is aware he is getting conservative votes only because he chose Palin.

I respectfully request that you reconsider your vote.

I am voting Barr and making a stand against the US’s slide into socialism.

It simply doesn't make sense.

Barr is completely incapable in any way of impacting the slide into socialism. By not supporting McCain, you further enable Obama. I've been through the argument from your side until I really considered the impact. Think Perot '92...

I am honestly telling you that supporting Bar IS de facto supporting Obama by depriving his only viable opponent of a vote.

Have it your way, but don't say we didn't warn you.

Yep, not happy with McCain either, but a seasoned, experienced Sarah Palin holds much promise.

Barr? This wacked out nut job doesn’t know what he wants. Besides that he cares far more about his ego than his country. This loser has NO chance of winning this and he knows it. The only thing he can do is throw the election to Obama. SHAME ON BARR AND SHAME ON ANYONE WHO VOTES FOR HIM!!!

** I'm voting for Barr...**
You may as well vote for rosi o dumbass.. same difference. a vote for anyone other than McCain is a vote for liberalism period. Why let the leftist communist socialists take over our country? please.....

If these anti American terrorist appeasers gain power it wouldn't surprise me if they burned the US constitution moved the white house to San Fransisco and adopted the communist manifesto to replace our Constitution..

From your home page:

"What I believe in:

* No government interference in lawful citizen’s lives
* free markets
* liberty is hard to gain and easy to lose...and nearly impossible to regain
* rational thought
* lean government
* personal responsibility
* the golden rule
* a united America is stronger than a divided one
* any belief worth having will stand up to debate
* religion is a personal matter
* laws to protect us from ourselves are wrong
* you’re right to believe what you want, right up to the point that it restricts my freedom."

Unfortunately, in 2008 as in 1992 and 1996, a vote for a third party conservative candidate (who will garner only a handful of votes) is effectively a vote for the Democrat, in this election, the zerObama.
