The message delivered by Mary Nichols, chairwoman of the state's Air Resources Board, was clear: Businesses, especially small and midsize operations, will be the among the primary drivers behind the state's sweeping goal of reducing emissions to 1990 levels within 12 years.

Underscoring that call to arms was the choice of venue. Nichols unveiled the fleshed-out plan at Advanced Micro Devices in Sunnyvale during a conference held by the Climate Group, a consortium of business leaders that released its own plan for helping employers toe the green line. The meeting was attended by officials from valley giants like Apple and Applied Materials as well as from start-ups and smaller firms.

I thought we switched from the greenhouse hoax to the financial meltdown hoax. I guess they didn’t get the word yet in CA.

I see that Canada did though.

Forced carpooling, offices at 80 deg in summer and 66 in winter, 4 day work weeks, $20/day to park in the company parking lot, tax breaks for bicycles, etc., etc., etc.

Mexico, Malaysia, India, China, Philippines -—> Here we come! Open your gates!

Yep, they sure will, by packing up and leaving the state altogether.

Translation: the remaining small and midsized businesses who have defied the odds to survive in California will finally be snuffed out for for good by this draconian diktat.

My suggestion to bring CA down to 1990 emissions levels?

All businesses that grew since then should leave to a more tax-friendly state.

to create billions of GREEN jobs. yet the articles are few and far between.

Tesla Motors hits the brakes amid credit crisis

Citing “extraordinary times,” Tesla Motors, maker of the battery-powered, $109,000 Roadster, said Wednesday that difficult market conditions were forcing it to delay production of its next-generation vehicle, close two offices, lay off an unspecified number of employees and replace its chief executive.

Move your business out of California.

Simple.

And, by the way, automakers should stop selling cars to California until California drops it’s California only emission standards.

Last week two giant ethanol producers went chapter 7. Must be getting cold, and people are noticing.

They better wise up quickly, our weatherman (who is adamantly opposed to the global warming fiasco) just stated that the glaciers in Alaska are growing! For the first time in 250 years! Think of the possibilities if there's any inertia involved. It would be almost worth it to freeze if I could see a blue and shivering Al Gore standing on a street corner selling matches.
