World Bank Under Cyber Siege in 'Unprecedented Crisis' (by the CHINESE)
Foxnews ^ | 10/10/2008 | Foxnews

The World Bank Group's computer network — one of the largest repositories of sensitive data about the economies of every nation — has been raided repeatedly by outsiders for more than a year, FOX News has learned.

It is still not known how much information was stolen. But sources inside the bank confirm that servers in the institution's highly-restricted treasury unit were deeply penetrated with spy software last April. Invaders also had full access to the rest of the bank's network for nearly a month in June and July.

In total, at least six major intrusions — two of them using the same group of IP addresses originating from China — have been detected at the World Bank since the summer of 2007, with the most recent breach occurring just last month.

The article says that “spoofing” IPs means that the attack is coming from anywhere. An Indian IP company has been found to embed “keystroke” software that places this info on the internet in an undisclosed cyber location.

Hope nobody has money in WB. This is hugh.

At least 18 servers compromised, 5 of which have sensitive data. Web servers, SAP servers, their domain controllers, CITRIX servers, certificate servers and their password hash files all thoroughly pwn3d by the Chinese.

They knew they were under attack for over a year, and had confirmation of the penetration at least by July 8th and elected to keep quiet about it.

At some point incompetence is indistinguishable from criminality.

The attacks might not be to steal money, directly.

Perhaps the attacks are simply espionage to determine who the heavy-hitters are... What entities have the power and position to manipulate markets... what entities appear to be moving in coordinated fashion?

Maybe access to WB systems could tell them something of that sort.

Most of what I have learned about high finance I have learned in the past 2 months.

…except, that since I was a child, my father told me repeatedly, until I was grown, “Never get an adjustable-rate mortgage.”

I thank God for my Dad.

This is a federal crime in the United States.

This software was actually installed IN the DC build where Satyam (means truth) had a contract to do work for the WB. If they would do this, I wouldn’t put it past them to try to pin it on the Chinese. Another iteresting fact, the early problems were found in the Johannesburg hub, one of several backup hubs established worldwide, in case the DC office was destroyed by terrorists or some such. These hubs have everything that DC has. The company handling the J hub apparently had rather inadequate cybersecurity. It was the FBI that informed WB that there were problems.

It’s obvious that the entire western world and our country are under siege. We are wide open to attack from all sides.

Exactly, read the whole article. It’s mind boggling!! It points out that although the WB may only invest a small amount in worldwide projects, the prestige and approval vastly enhances the potential value of the project (good investment). Advance knowledge is a stock market winner. Also they have detailed data on many countries, and even do money management for several countries.

Globalism , using the falsely named tool called “free trade” has weakened America in every way, and has given declared enemies power over us with the phony constructs of ‘interdependence’ and the ‘intertwining’ of our economy with theirs.

The globalists in our government set up the World Bank to use as a tool ostensibly for US globalists to use. It has become a way to weaken America and the American economy, and apparently now, American secrets are available to the declared enemy.
