At the same time the Bush administration was negotiating a still elusive agreement to keep the U.S. military in Iraq, Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama tried to convince Iraqi leaders in private conversations that the president shouldn't be allowed to enact the deal without congressional approval.

This seems like a rehash of the same story we heard several weeks ago, which went nowhere. Am I wrong?
“Some of the specifics of the conversations remain the subject of dispute. Iraqi leaders purported to The Times that Mr. Obama urged Baghdad to delay an agreement with Mr. Bush until next year when a new president will be in office - a charge the Democratic campaign denies. “
I think you are right CatOwner. Not sure why it is going around again. It is up on Drudge too...
Wash Times website is down.

I think the difference is that it is being published in the Washington Post.
I honestly don’t remember the different news outlets that the previous story (which I agree is the same from a couple weeks ago), but I’m pretty sure it wasn’t carried by the Obamamania Media.
The yahoo email hacker strikes again!
Yes indeed but there is a seemingly BIG difference now! This is all being drudged up again because it appears the MSM is beginning to show signs of wanting to know “more” about Barack Hussein Obama and his shady dealings/associations. Quite interesting indeed.
Baracks chickens may be coming home to ROOST after all
NY Post Redux. MSM will laugh this off. ‘Morning Joe’ won’t even cover it.
This is the actual story not the Drudge teaser.
Of course not. A felony by a demRAt is not a crime.
“The call was not recorded by either side, and Mr. Zebari did not respond to repeated telephone and e-mail messages requesting direct comment.”
show’s over, no evidence, only hearsay and rumors. Obama will get a pass.
That’s just the point...It’s up on Drudge now. Something is going on....
I believe this story was first published in the NY post.
Whatever it is, it is worth repeating.
bttt
isn’t this in the Washington Times, not Post?

TFTP
HELLO TEAM MCCAIN!! **THIS** EXPOSES OBAMA AS THE FRAUD HE IS!!
GET ON IT NEXT DEBATE - GET THE ADS - GET TO WORK!!!!
You’re right, but now, you aren’t reading blog and editorials, etc. about it.
times not the post.
This Washington Times article actually has Iraqi leaders collaboration of the fact Obama DID try to make a deal with them. I looked as older news info and did not see the actual testimonies of Iraqi leaders actually TELLING us this was true as is the case with this. I think that might be why this has come up again — because there is now substance with collaboration from direct sources.
Look at what has happened in the last couple days:
Obama has been outted as in bed with the ACORN vote fraud machine, and the liberal media is actually starting to report it.
Obama has been outted as a liar in regards to his relationship with Ayers, and the liberal media outlet CNN is actually reporting it.
Obama has been outted as in being against the reforms that might have saved the Fan/Fred meltdown, and the liberal media is actually starting to report it.
There is only one word that explains the recent media “revelations:”
C-L-I-N-T-O-N.
The Clintons have been eerily silent for the last month, just watching the tide. They’ve now decided Obama’s has risen too high, and they have released the flying monkeys to make sure he loses, ensuring Hillary’s run in 2012.
By now, the Iraqis are well aware that their future will be wildly different depending on who is the next US president. I imagine that the US military has carefully counseled them that if Obama is elected, they should immediately, and loudly demand the withdrawl of all US forces before Inauguration Day.
And once the US military has left, the UN authorization will expire, so there will be no way for Obama to double cross the Iraqis and restart the war so he can make the US lose.
If McCain is elected, however, the Iraqis can expect the status quo, and for the US military to continue to help them turn their military into a world class fighting force, who can kick Iran’s rear end whenever they would want or need to.
Obama as POTUS would also mean that we would give the Iraqis a shopping list of military equipment to buy immediately, especially combat aircraft and anti-missile batteries.
I think the MSM is starting to get pushback from their viewers. They went after Palin, but they’ve done nothing to investigate Obama’s past. They are, in fact, corporations in business to make money, and they can’t piss off their viewers and continue to make money.
It is going around now because now there is collaboration from Iraqi leaders to what happened. The article provides confirmation and verification and supplies actual words and substance as to what happened.
PLEASE NOTE:
I would not discount the author of this Washington Post article. If THIS gal writes this, there is substance to it, probably more than we even have here.

This story has no legs. Sorry, but people don’t care. There needs to be a much bigger scandal on Obama. It is OBVIOUS that people don’t care.
