Gov. Matt Blunt is no stranger to issuing news releases filled with angry rhetoric, but todays is a bit unique.
The governor rips the members of the National Socialist Movement who apparently plan a march on the Capitol grounds on Nov. 8. According to the Jefferson City News-Tribune, the group turned to the capital city after being rejected by the city of Columbia.
Blunt says he wishes that he, too, could have rejected the group but said the law wont allow it.
While I prefer to ignore this hate group, the media have continued to draw attention to their march, and Missourians are asking why they are being allowed on Capitol grounds, Blunt said. The great people of this nation have long recognized that we have certain moral responsibilities to one another. Not so many years ago, a generation of exceptional American heroes confronted the dangerous ideaologies of Nazi Germany and won. it is repulsive to me that the eveil and despicable views that led to horrific and unthinkable crimes against humanity would be celebrated by this group.
Columbia had rejected the Neo-Nazis plan for a march because police were already committed that day to helping with traffic for the MU-Kansas State football game.

There’s never any controversy about letting Communists march in America. Even when they riot, the charges are rarely followed through to conviction of the rioters.
Nazis are rotten, so are Communists, and Islamic supremacists.

APRIL 30, 2005 : (BOCA RATON, FL : ASSADIQ ISLAMIC EDUCATION FOUNDATION INVITES FORMER CHAIRMAN OF [NEONAZI] POPULIST PARTY TO BE A FEATURED SPEAKER AT A BANQUET AT THE LOCAL MARRIOT - See the organization CAMP, David Duke) A new Islamic advocacy group in Boca Raton is under scrutiny for its ties to William W. Baker, a former chairman of the neo-Nazi political party of presidential candidate David Duke who was run out of town last year [2004] when he attempted to speak at Florida Atlantic University.
Local Jewish and civic leaders said Friday they were alarmed that the Assadiq Islamic Education Foundation, whose headquarters are listed at 831 E. Palmetto Park Road in Boca, had invited Baker back to Boca as featured speaker at an April 30 [2005] banquet at the Boca Marriott. Invited by Muslim students to speak at Florida Atlantic University in April 2004, Bakers first visit to the city was cancelled amid popular protest.
Id like to give [the Assadiq Foundation] the benefit of the doubt and say they got snookered, but this is the second attempt at getting Baker into Boca Raton, so they have to be aware of his reputation, said Bill Gralnick, southeast regional director of the American Jewish Committee.
Leaders of the Anti-Defamation League also protested last years [2004] visit by [William W.] Baker, on whom they have a long anti-Semitic file. Now head of Christians and Muslims for Peace (CAMP), Baker chaired the neo-Nazi Populist Party and organized its national convention in 1984.
For me, its alarm bells, Gralnick said. Baker is in league with Islamicist elements that are probing the defenses of American Jewish communities. He makes money off them by being their white Anglo-Saxon mouthpiece who says bad things about Jews.
Sayed Mohammad Jawad Al-Qazwini, listed on the Assadiq Web site as the groups [Assadiq Islamic Education Foundation’s] Imam and founder, did not answer media inquiries Friday. ....

There’s not much difference between them:
Hamburg - Neo-Nazis plan to use the World Cup to gain publicity for their extreme right-wing ideology, the news magazine Der Spiegel reported on Saturday. The report said the extremists plan to hold a rally when Iran play Angola in order to demonstrate their sympathy for Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. -— “Neo-Nazis plan pro-Iran parade at World Cup,” Deutsche Presse Agentur, May 21, 2006

These, “Marches” are usually a small group surrounded by many times the numbers of counter protesters shouting catcalls.
That’s been my experience too. I say let ‘em protest, their scant numbers just show what wastes of skin they are.
In a free country, you have to tolerate all kinds of nutbags
Also let them do it without police protection. Let nature take its course.

Have to disagree (and I think you are being a bit facetious).
As much as seeing Nazis get the living s-— kicked out of them sounds appealing, vigilanteeism is way too slippery a slope for me. We have to protect all speech, even the vile and rightfully unpopular type.
