Sarah Palin Tells John McCain: "Take the Gloves Off"

Republican vice presidential nominee Alaska Governor Sarah Palin gave a public suggestion to her boss, Republican presidential nominee Arizona Senator John McCain, on how to run his campaign: "Take the gloves off."

Palin made her comment at the end of an interview with (somewhat) conservative writer William Kristol in an op-ed column published in The New York Times.

Palin declared yesterday that for her part, "The gloves are off, the heels are on," as she opened a new front against Democratic presidential nominee Illinois Senator Barack Obama regarding his relationship with unrepentant terrorist Bill Ayers.

On Friday, Palin publicly challenged McCain to send her to campaign in Michigan after the McCain campaign announced it was pulling its resources from the state.

Palin was relating to Kristol what her advice to McCain would be for the presidential candidate debate this Tuesday.

She said, "I’m going to tell him the same thing he told me. I talked to him just a few minutes before I walked out there on stage. And he just said: ‘Have fun. Be yourself, and have fun.’ And Senator McCain can do the same. Only maybe I’d add just a couple more words, and that would be: ‘Take the gloves off.’ ”

I hope she can get McCain to see that everything they say and do will be perceived as racist...so stop trying to appease the left’s delicate sensibilities and go after them for Wright and the CRA/ACORN/Fan/Fred debacle.

Either that, or continue to allow them to frame the argument and blame Republicans for the mess they made.
