... calling for "grassroots effort" to help boost campaign.
The names of four former top leaders of the Weathermen terrorist organization are listed as signatories on an online petition calling for an "independent grassroots effort" to help strengthen Obama's campaign.
The petition was initiated by Progressives for Obama, an independent organization acting to ensure the Illinois senator's election.
Among the names signed onto the petition are former Weathermen leaders Howard Machtinger, Jeff Jones, Steve Tappis and Mark Rudd.
Machtinger was a Weathermen founder and was co-author of the terror group's original mission statement, which called for "revolutionaries within the United States to wage a 'people's war' and attack from within. The government would fall and 'world communism' eventually would be instituted."
Jones, according to his own website, was "elected, along with (Weathermen terrorist) Bill Ayers and Mark Rudd, to the SDS national office. Then, in the spring of 1970, he disappeared. As a leader of the Weather Underground, Jeff evaded an intense FBI manhunt for more than a decade. In 1981, they finally got him. Twenty special agents battered down the door of the Bronx apartment where he was living with his wife and four-year-old son."
Tappis was one of 11 people who signed the original Weathermen statement, which was infamously titled, "You Don't Need a Weatherman to Know Which Way the Wind Blows."
Rudd, a petition supporter as well as a main signatory to the Progressives for Obama group, was one of the main founders of the Weathermen terrorist organization. A biography published on his website explains Rudd worked to form the Weathermen as a radical alternative to the SDS and for white Americans to eject their "white skin privilege" and begin "armed struggle" against the U.S. government.

This shouldn’t come as shock to anyone.
BOOMP
It’s amazing that these senile, drug-addled goofs haven’t figured out that their endorsement is doing more harm than good to their candidate. How egotistical.
The perfect McCain commercial:
Name the endorsers. Ask: This is what you want?
= never happen. Reach across that aisle, John.
The GOP should run a campaign ad that just lists all the terrorists, dictators, and communists that support 0bama.
What comes as a shock to me is how any sane person can support Obama! These things are not made up, but they ignore them & put on blinders & are almost "cult like" in their support of him!
I live in a small, rural town in Illinois & was actually shocked to see quite a few Obama bumper stickers & also one house has a HUGE homemade sign supporting him.
This is small-town America, these are hardworking middle class people, not on welfare, not on drugs, middle class families with children! Are they all brain-washed or what?
I think I’ll send this article to the McCain camp, think they’ll get the message???
Hamas, the Weathermen, Hugo Chavez - tomorrow it will be al Queda.
He keeps racking up the endorsements that matter to the left. :D
Nice sentiment, but McCain will never know about this. The MSM will hide it. And I am convinced that NOBODY on McCains staff knows that FR even exists. They are Bush people, which means that they are the worst communications staff in political history.
And even if they’d heard about this they wouldn’t use it. McCain would shoot the idea down as ‘partisan’.
McCain is absolutely determined to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
It would seem so. I don't get it. If you figure it out let me know.
Or maybe this could explain it. Google "Triumpth Of The Will". A documentary by Leni Riefenstahl.
Self explanatory if you can find it.
I emailed the campaign tonight info@johnmccain.com to tell them the gloves need to come off regarding this financial mess, CRA and the rats. McCain has GOT to stop playing nice. He asked us to fight with him and now he won’t fight. If he won’t then they should turn Sarah loose on them.
There were a bunch of people commenting on a US NEWS article about why John won’t attack and the posters were pissed!
The article is here;

I’m sure it will be pulled very soon now.

Watch this video — scarey — Obama Youth
Of course tehy would. I guess they don’t think anyoen remembers who they are.
Well, I guess McCain has just lost the home grown terrorist vote.
I am of two (or more) minds as to how the McC campaign is being run. Either this campaign is being run by folks who, at the last minute, will set up 350 snipers with finely tuned precision scoped rifles and make 347 kills three days before the elections....or, they will fumble this thing the way they are, that is giving most of us extreme heartburn all the way to a miserable disappointment. I honestly don’t know which.
I think that folks who have the technology to make little video vignettes (and there are many) on their PCs need to actually produce and create crude campaign commercials, essentially PC-based video storyboards, and forward them to the RNC. Unless the strategy is to induce over-the-top cockiness and complacency in the 0bama campaign (a valid, but a quadruple or nothing tactic) to set up a last minute kill, there seems to be a profound lack of imagination on the GOP side.
“The perfect McCain commercial:
Name the endorsers. Ask: This is what you want?”
I’d ask: Is this the CHANGE you want?
“Reach across that aisle, John.”
He’d have to reach across to Republicans. Sorry, but that’s the way I see it. If I hear any more about bipartisanship or reaching across blah, blah, blah, I think I’ll throw up. The voters don’t care diddley squat about either, IMHO. At least the Dems don’t. They don’t need to. They’ve got both houses sewn up.
