A car bomb blast near Russia's peacekeeping headquarters in South Ossetia has left six military personnel killed and four others injured.
The explosion took place on Friday near the command post of the Russian peacekeepers in Tskhinvali, the capital of the independence-leaning republic.
The car, with some quantities of arms in it, was seized earlier in a nearby village, said South Ossetia's press department, AP reported.
Neat trick. Get them to tow it to where you want it............

This didn't happen in Inguchetia or Chechnya but in Russian occupied S-Ossetia, Georgia (Christian). Matter of factly the Russians employed Chechnyan Muslim paramilitaries as leashdogs against Georgian civilians.
They would sure like a war between the western powers.Russia, which I don't consider a western power, which has portrayed itself as "best friend of Islam" and is allied with Iran and Syria, started a war against a Christian western-oriented pro-American Georgia.

You may want to consider the size of the 2 countries. The Russians could fully occupy all of Georgia in about 12 hours.

I mean,, that Beslan school mass murder was at least 50 miles north of S. Ossetia.

The Russians get car-bombed; blame the Georgians; re-invade Georgia; US responds with assets in the area; hot war breaks out between East and West... WHO GAINS?

Yep, and its not even a school that they bombed.
But then maybe that is the fault of the Russians for moving the car.
Russia being “best friends” with islam is like Bush saying we are “best friends” with Mexico. When you share a huge southern border and your southern regions have a huge restless minority, you make make obligatory remarks that help to keep the lid on. You just do.
If they are “best friends” of islam, it’s rather odd that post 9/11, Putin gave us free use of ex-soviet air bases in the “stans” north of Pakistan. It’s odd that he put a freeze on the building of ANY new mosques in Moscow.
The average Russian,,,of which Putin is,, like it or not, is very anti-Muslim. A conversation with a Russian can take a xenophobic or racist turn in a New York minute.
Sometimes scary, sometimes fun,, but don’t deny its true.
Average Russians, as in the 90% zone remember the events in their life in about the last decade.
They remember seeing Chechens beheading captured Russian soldiers, and the USA taking the Chechens side because we were stuck in the cold war.
They remember the young 18 year old paratrooper who became a saint or something in the orthodox church by refusing to save his life. All he had to do was remove a crucifix he wore and swear there was no god but Allah.
They remember back in 2005 how 2 female sucide bomber muslims blew up 2 airliners.
They remember the theater takeover.
They remember the suicide bombs at a concert in Moscow.
They remember Beslan.
The list is long,,, and i don’t know it all.
Guys, I know many people are basically desiring to look the beast in the face and see a beauty, i’m not doing that.
I’m a republican, Former Marine from desert storm, Texan, gun-owning commie hater first class,, BUT a fair reading of the last 10 years is that they were ripe to be a MAJOR US ally against Islam. But Clintoon and Bush thot it was more important to help the Islamic KLA in Kosovo, to support Chechen throat cutters, to expand NATO right up to their borders as the Warsw pact disbanded, and to carry the water for Europes oil interests in Georgia.
The Russians first time out of the ‘chute with a Ruble that was a true exchangable currency, and not just a glorified company script so to speak,, guess what? They pegged it to the US Dollar. They were truly headed our way till Soros and the guys who brought us the current Wall street fun wanted it to be completely free floating and manipulatable.
If you truly study a little, we had a golden opportunity to have an economic powerhouse of a friend. But for reasons i dont get, the US state dept has cultivated them into a new enemy, almost as if by blueprint. And now, sadly for us, our magic moment, post USSR, has been squandered.
The more you study it,,,its Ridiculous.
The Cold war ended 20 years ago,, look at our relations with Germany and Japan in 1965, and get an idea how far off the mark Bush 1, Clintoon, and Bush 2 have been.
We re getting from them exactly what our “experienced” politicans have cultivated.

I read on a couple of foreign sites that they are considering the thought that Russia is the one who set off the bomb, for another excuse to invade Georgia.
