Therefore is my spirit overwhelmed within me; my heart within me is desolate. I remember the days of old; I meditate on all thy works; I muse on the work of thy hands. I stretch forth my hands unto thee: my soul thirsteth after thee, as a thirsty land. Selah
Psalm 143:4-6
Like the Psalmist, we meditate on Your works and remember all the good things You have done for this country we love. Thank You for establishing it on Your principles and giving us leaders that have moved us towards Your ways of doing and being right. We are grateful for each one. Many are the times that You have granted us victory over our enemiesthose that have worked in opposition to You and against us. Thank You for each victory. Your children, Your righteous ones continue to declare, In God we trust. We are unwavering in that declaration.
We pray for President Bush this day, according to Your will. Grant him Your strength, wisdom and courage as he seeks You. Protect him and his family and give them time to minister to one another, to enjoy the abundant life You have given them and to love one another with the love You have shed abroad in their hearts by the Holy Spirit. Let Your blessings overtake them.
We pray also for Senator McCain and Governor Palin. Your Word declares that any tongue that rises against them in judgement will be condemned. So, we condemn the lies that have been spoken against them and ask You to bring forth Truth. We are specifically asking You for favor for Governor Palin this evening. Give her a mouth and such utterance that all of her foes combined will be unable to stand against or refute. (Luke 21:15). Protect them and their families physically, Sir, from any physical harm. Were also asking You to protect the children from viscous tongues spoken against their parents. Grant the families Your peace and love.
Anoint our precious defenders of freedom for success and victory. We trust You to give them whatever information they need to accomplish this.
Help us, Oh Mighty Lord, as a nation. As Your children humble themselves, turn from their wicked ways and pray, Oh God, heal us. Heal us. Heal us. We put our trust in You.
In Jesus name, Amen
Please join me in prayer.
Praying mightily these days!!
#1, you don’t have the luxury of praying for just the people you like. The Bible says we should pray for ALL in authority. Paul said that when Nero was Caesar, so as much as you dislike the President, he is not Nero and if you say he is you show an appalling lack of historical insight.
#2, you should repent of your foul mouth on a prayer thread. This thread since its beginning has been protected from debate and nasty comments. It is a prayer thread. Treat it like a church because we are talking to the Almighty about saving this nation rather than whining about some financial vote gone bad.
Stay off these theads
Now, more than ever! God help us!
Agreeing with you in prayer for our President, Senator McCain, and Sister Sarah during her debate tonight and always.
Thank you for your beautiful prayer.
I would like to add just one little prayer:
“Lord, we pray that Joe Biden will ‘be hidin’’ after his abysmal showing tonight.”
Most gracious Heavenly Father,
We give thanks and praise to Your Holy Name. We declare you Lord of Heaven and earth. Please hear now our earnest prayer that we as a nation would humble ourselves before You and become subjects to Your Will. Make us to be doers of Your Word. Make us the salt and the light that the world will see and glorify You. For the upcoming election, God, our Father, have mercy on us. Grant unto us I pray the leader of Your choosing. Exalt, oh Lord, the man You appoint to lead us. Open the door wide so that no man can shut out the man of Your choosing. Have you way, we implore you, our Soverign Lord. Forgive us our sins. Forgive us for selfishness. Forgive us for not loving one another as You have commanded.
We love you. Amen
I’ll definitely be praying.
I join in prayer for President Bush, the Administration, McCain, Palin and our heroes standing in harm’s way!
Jeremiah 17:16-18
16 Sara has not run away from being your shepherd;
you know Sara has not desired the day of despair.
What passes her lips is open before you.
17 Do not be a terror to her;
you are her refuge in the day of disaster.
18 Let her persecutors be put to shame,
but keep her from shame;
let them be terrified,
but keep her from terror.
Bring on them the day of disaster;
destroy them with double destruction.
Amen, and Amen to your Lord-Blessed and Anointed Prayer, Dear Sister, and Thank you for the Link to the Beautiful Song!
'Lord, with All my Heart I Thank You.
I will Sing Your Praises Before the Armies of Angels in Heaven.' (Ps.138:1)
Holy God,
Just as Queen Esther and the prophetess Deborah bravely defended Your people, we come together to pray for Sarah Palin tonight as she stands before America to defend what we hold dear. Lord, she is Your daughter---chosen for this time and place to be a mighty witness of Your love and Your truth. We ask You, Father, to help her feel Your arms surrounding her---Your Spirit filling her. When she walks to the podium tonight, may You give her eyes to see just as You did Elijah and Elisha, so that she may look forth and see the armies of angels surrounding her. Oh Dear God, this battle belongs to YOU alone, but we pray that You would use all of us as willing servants for every cause You bear. Father, cause the American people to fall in love with the MESSAGE of Sarah. Make her an instrument of Your peace and love. Let her be a role model to women everywhere. Help her to grow in favor with every citizen, and may she bring GLORY and HONOR not to her party, but to YOU in all things. And let us give you all the praise and glory due Your Name. Through our Savior, Jesus, in Whom all things are possible, AMEN!
AMEN SISTER AND GRACE TO ALL CHRISTIAN PATRIOTS!
“I will sing of mercy and judgment.”
- Psalm 101:1
Faith triumphs in trial. When reason is thrust into the inner prison, with
her feet made fast in the stocks, faith makes the dungeon walls ring with
her merry notes as she cries, “I will sing of mercy and of judgment.
Unto thee, O Lord, will I sing.
“ Faith pulls the black mask from the face of trouble, and discovers the
angel beneath.
Faith looks up at the cloud, and sees that
“’Tis big with mercy and shall break
In blessings on her head.”
There is a subject for song even in the judgments of God towards us. For,
first, the trial is not so heavy as it might have been; next, the trouble
is not so severe as we deserved to have borne; and our affliction is not
so crushing as the burden which others have to carry. Faith sees that in
her worst sorrow there is nothing penal; there is not a drop of God’s
wrath in it; it is all sent in love. Faith discerns love gleaming like a
jewel on the breast of an angry God. Faith says of her grief, “This is a
badge of honour, for the child must feel the rod”; and then she sings of
the sweet result of her sorrows, because they work her spiritual good.
Nay, more, says Faith, “These light afflictions, which are but for a
moment, work out for me a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.
“ So Faith rides forth on the black horse, conquering and to conquer,
trampling down carnal reason and fleshly sense, and chanting notes of
victory amid the thickest of the fray.
“All I meet I find assists me
In my path to heavenly joy:
Where, though trials now attend me,
Trials never more annoy.
“Blest there with a weight of glory,
Still the path I’ll ne’er forget,
But, exulting, cry, it led me
To my blessed Saviour’s seat.”

SOLI DEO GLORIA!
I stand with you all in your strong prayers tonight.
Almighty God, thank You for hearing our prayers, for Your grace and Your favor. Not by might, not by power, but by Your Spirit, O Lord, thank You for Your presence with Sarah Palin tonight in her debate. You know the evil minds who desire to see her harm, and yet we know we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against the powers, against the rulers of iniquity, against the spirit hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Place upon us all the full armor of God. May every word that comes out of Sarah’s mouth be of You, dear God, and may those who hear it sense the goodness, righteousness, strength and comfort of God.
Be with our president in these dire times, Lord. Give him courage and strength to continue on, guide him, giving him wisdom in all he does.
Thank You for favor and success. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Amen.
On a crisp October morning, our local newspaper featured a stunning photo of sun-drenched aspen trees whose leaves had turned autumn gold. The caption read: FOR A LIMITED TIME ONLY. The irresistible invitation to take a drive through the mountains to savor the brilliant colors conveyed the urgency of doing it quickly. Autumn leaves that are golden today are often gone tomorrow.
Our opportunities to obey Gods promptings are also fleeting. James warned against an arrogance that assumes endless days will be available to carry out our good intentions. You do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. . . . Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin (4:14,17).
Is there an act of kindness or encouragement that God has urged you to do for someone in His name? How long has it been since that first prompting? With so many demands on our time, the urgent tasks demand our attention while the important things can be postponed. But a time will come when even the important can no longer be done.
When we follow Gods urging with our action now, today will be golden.
Tonight will be a spiritual battle.
Dear Father, I pray that tonight you will make evident your victory over the dark powers that clutch at America.
We are weak and foolish. We barely love. We dearly hate. Forgive us our many sins and transgressions. Help us to repent. Please give us this victory: we need it so very badly.
Please grant your servant Sarah humility, fortitude, faith, and all the gifts and grace of The Holy Spirit. Give her calm and eloquence. Defeat the traps her enemies will (no doubt) lay before her. Temper her heart with charity.
May America be moved by your servant Sarah tonight.
+ We ask this in the name of Your Son, our Lord, Jesus Christ. +
Amen.
