Abolish the vice presidency (No mention of Biden????)
Los Angeles Times ^ | October 2, 2008 | Bruce Ackerman

Posted on 10/02/2008 3:28:39 AM PDT by Colonel Kangaroo

The founders messed up. We should do away with the office.

Sarah Palin is the product of a design flaw -- the unintended consequence of the founders' decision to create the vice presidency.

For two centuries, presidential nominees have used the office to balance the ticket by naming a running mate from a different region, or one who speaks with a different ideological accent to a specific constituency. This means that a president's death generates a double shock: The nation not only mourns a fallen leader, it must deal with a replacement who may push politics in a new direction.

The Yale professor works hard to get an insult in on Palin. And Palin is the "design flaw"? What does that make Biden? She's run a state, what has he ever managed?

The Founding Fathers intended and envisioned ordinary citizens like Sarah Palin, to have a large part in our government, to avoid THE DISASTER WE HAVE TODAY, OF AN ENTRENCHED POLITICAL CLASS DEALING FOR THEM AND THEIR BUDDIES. Their much vaunted “experience” is worthless dung!

Bet he had to rub both his brain cells together to come up with it.

How did it come to pass that Palin is universally panned as unqualified?
Many media and Democrats wanted Kathleen Sibelius, Governor of Kansas, to be the choice or at least on the short list for Obama’s VP. That woman has less qualifications than Sarah, except she is a rabid pro-abortionist.

I get so sick of the Republicans not fighting back, and defending their people.

Consider the source of this dreck...

This happened because the left and the media (but I repeat myself) have no morals and no reason to be consistent. They will do anything to have their candidate win. Their only question is not weather it is right or wrong, it is: will it help their guy win.

Their only guiding principle is: does it advance the left? We will be constantly caught in this trap until we develop enough new media to conteract the MSM. We obviously are not there yet.

The reason I supported Mitt Romney was because I’d like to see somebody in charge who has done something in his life besides get elected and has some real accomplishments he can point to. Sarah Palin is one of those people.

"Biden"

Biden? You're right. But what does that make Obama? If Obama lacked any of a number of factors including skin color, voice, or height he'd never have been nominated. In short if he looked liked Dennis Kucinich, he'd have Dennis's poll numbers. Typical twaddle from a lib columnist.

For over thirty years in the Senate, the only thing Joe Biden has run is his mouth!

Oh My! Mr. Ackerman woke up this morning with severe panic
syndrome! That kind of panic where he realizes the chances of his blind adoration for what he believes to be the most “perfect change to the world” will not come to pass!

Lets pray for him and although it may take some time for him to overcome his despair, he will eventually receive the comfort and healing that only comes from our higher source.
The same higher source who brought us the blessing of truth which is personified in Sarah Palin!

The conventional nonwisdom seems to hold that the Senate is some sort of AAA minor league for the White House. People that have run gas stations, one man post offices, and a million other useful enterprises have more executive experience than the pair of lawyers/political pros on the Democrats' ticket put together.

And though he's not been a governor, Senator McCain has had command experience in his military career.

Mexico and France see no need for a vice president. We should designate the secretary of State to be in charge until a special election can be held to replace a president.

Yeah, these "great nations" got it right and The Founding Fathers got it wrong. And then he thinks we should turn things over to someone who isn't even an elected official. Brilliant! /s

They really hate this woman with a passion I haven’t seen sense Ronald Reagan ran. She can’t be that bad if the liberal loonies hate her that much. She has one thing going for her I see that most politicians don’t have, she is honest. For that reason alone I would vote for her over Obama.

"I get so sick of the Republicans not fighting back, and defending their people."

After tonight's debate no one will say Republicans aren't fighting back anymore. Obama's character issue will be front and center. The guy attended a racist church for over 20 years. Most Americans don't know that. They will after tonight. Obama loses the election tonight.

...

If McCain wins the presidency, we can only wish him a long life. But however the race turns out, we should recognize that the founders didn't have the slightest idea that the vice presidency would episodically explode in our face, and it's about time we fixed it.

Great goodness. The Democrats nominate two of the worst candidates in the history of the Republic, and this "professor" of politics is upset by the choice of a sitting governor who has a solid record of accomplishment?

Yet Senator "Coke-head" Obama, who we now know was a citizen of Kenya until age 21, who has a record of drug abuse, who has belonged to and financially supported a "church" for 20 years that preaches hatred and damnation of America, whose only job experience has been as a political agitator and lecturer, is somehow beyond question a fine choice for President of the United States? A man, who bereft of his teleprompter, bumbles his way through his own stump speeches that he has given many times before?

It's hard to believe that these fishwrappers can stay in business printing such absurdities, and their rapidly falling revenues show what a poor business plan it is.

I say abolish the office of “graduate student”, forcing the professors of the world to teach every class - including remedial English. Any slack can be taken up by the class leader, selected by the students in the class being taught.

This idiot doesn’t understand anything about separation of powers.
