Why Republicans supporting democrat's investor bailout bill is political suicide
Obama website/youtube ^ | Sept 29, 2008 | Obama

Obama website video at link: "For eight years we have been told that the way to a stronger economy was huge tax cuts to corporations and the wealthiest Americans and somehow prosperity will trickle down. Now we know the truth, it didn't work. Instead of trickling down pain is trickling up ...Instead of giving hundreds of billions of tax breaks to huge corporations and oil companies... I will focus on you... The old trickle down has failed out. We can't afford more of the same".

From his plan at website: Provide Middle Class Americans Tax Relief Obama and Biden will cut income taxes by $1,000 for working families to offset the payroll tax they pay. Provide a Tax Cut for Working Families: Obama and Biden will restore fairness to the tax code and provide 150 million workers the tax relief they need. Obama and Biden will create a new "Making Work Pay" tax credit of up to $500 per person, or $1,000 per working family. The "Making Work Pay" tax credit will completely eliminate income taxes for 10 million Americans.

Same as above at Obama website:

This is a huge trap for Republicans. McCain and Bush will kill off house republicans and loose the white house. Liberal media types and democrats say republicans must be patriotic and support Pelosi's 'trickle down' bill so they can be accused of 'only caring for the rich' on election day.

Obama says his taxing the rich (fair share) will provide these welfare checks to everyone, then tells house republicans to vote for a 'trickle down' bill to give democrats cover. And establishment republicans think it's great! McCain, we need a leader, not a democrat butt kisser. Point out that democrats are talking collectivism but pushing 'trickle down'.

Don't sellout cheap, demand democrats support 1) capital gains tax cut, 2) an independent investigator and 3) a breakup of Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac if they want this 'trickle down' to be supported by republicans/

THIS IS A HUGH STINKING SET-UP. And there is no way the republicans will NOT get blamed. The meidaWHORE headlines and polls are already in the making as we type. Unfortunately many will fall easily into the trap of lies and deceit the RATS have sprang up so close to the election. NOT enough time to recover for those pubs who’s seats are in peril. We need the Lord to remove the blinders the mediaPUKES have glued on the American folk. Let the light of TRUTH shine forth...in Jesus name.

“Instead of trickling down pain is trickling up...”

This doesn’t make sense. Wall Street to Main Street...isn’t that trickle down? Obama believes in trickle down economics? Oh it’s only pain that trickles, not wealth. sarc

Obama may be an empty suit to us but I’m listening to him right now on Fox and he is damn good at feeding his supporters what they want to hear. “That’s why I’m flying back to Washington tonight to safeguard our economy”. Cheers!
“I’m going to do a full review of this plan and if necessary we’ll pass new legislation .... as I modernize the financial system.....I will protect struggling homeowners as well as Wall Street.....” etc etc.....More cheers. (needless to say he doesn’t mention his Global Poverty Act giveaway to the world at our expense)

If you don’t pay attention you’d think he should be elected.

Exactly and McCain is lost by taking the position, “this is a bad fix but we have to swallow it” Let “ Mr Smiley faced Marxism” make that case. McCain seems to have NO election plan wrt the economy. How tough can it be, Obama is spitting out non-sense,

McCain says he supports the Senate bill and will vote for it.
Just said it in a speech less than a hour ago.
He keeps smacking about the everyone getting along bipartisan mumbo jumbo.

I really think now he wants to lose.
Not so maverick afterall.

no ACORN, no addons, no earmarks.

Just deal with the present crisis. Better yet, let the market fix itself.

Even if he is not conservative, who is he rallying here?? Last summer he was losing and then he rallied Americans by separating himself from Obama. It's over.

“I’m going to do a full review of this plan and if necessary we’ll pass new legislation ....

I guess TheOne doesn't know the bill is 451 pages long. If he reads as slowly as he thinks it'll be a month before he's done.
