The fact that the Obama campaign deleted this within hours of its appearance, and on a Sunday, shows that this is the October (or late September) surprise that will end Obama's candidacy. Please circulate the following press release from Missouri's governor, Matt Blunt.

Gov. Blunt Statement on Obama Campaigns Abusive Use of Missouri Law Enforcement
Gov. Blunt Statement on Obama Campaigns Abusive Use of Missouri Law Enforcement
JEFFERSON CITY - Gov. Matt Blunt today issued the following statement on news reports that have exposed plans by U.S. Senator Barack Obama to use Missouri law enforcement to threaten and intimidate his critics.
St. Louis County Circuit Attorney Bob McCulloch, St. Louis City Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce, Jefferson County Sheriff Glenn Boyer, and Obama and the leader of his Missouri campaign Senator Claire McCaskill have attached the stench of police state tactics to the Obama-Biden campaign.
What Senator Obama and his helpers are doing is scandalous beyond words, the party that claims to be the party of Thomas Jefferson is abusing the justice system and offices of public trust to silence political criticism with threats of prosecution and criminal punishment.
This abuse of the law for intimidation insults the most sacred principles and ideals of Jefferson. I can think of nothing more offensive to Jeffersons thinking than using the power of the state to deprive Americans of their civil rights. The only conceivable purpose of Messrs. McCulloch, Obama and the others is to frighten people away from expressing themselves, to chill free and open debate, to suppress support and donations to conservative organizations targeted by this anti-civil rights, to strangle criticism of Mr. Obama, to suppress ads about his support of higher taxes, and to choke out criticism on television, radio, the Internet, blogs, e-mail and daily conversation about the election.
Barack Obama needs to grow up. Leftist blogs and others in the press constantly say false things about me and my family. Usually, we ignore false and scurrilous accusations because the purveyors have no credibility. When necessary, we refute them. Enlisting Missouri law enforcement to intimidate people and kill free debate is reminiscent of the Sedition Acts - not a free society.

This could be big. If McCain chooses to make it big. Otherwise it will remain hidden in the gutter, like all things rat-like. There to bite you but not in public view.
Dear Senator McCain: Please take action on this.

Their statement was that “ Barack is a Christian who will lower taxes on people whose income is below $250,000.”
Is this part of their job? They are not supposed to get actively involved in ANY political campaign. Buy them some brown shirts. First Amendment disappearing under BO. (2nd Amendment will be gone too)

If the ACLU was the American Civil Liberties Union instead of the American Communist Lawyers Union, they would be over this like a dog on a dropped pork chop.
Government officials using their positions of power to eliminate free speech and threaten arrest of their political opponent's supporters? If McCain were threatening to have Obama's supporters arrested the ACLU would be on it in a second. The other way around? You get nothing but cricket sounds.

Actually, I am quite scared about this. Not because he tried it — no, I am scared because all the liberal idiots I know thought this is a good idea. This was one of the worst quotes:
“ok while we are at it lets elect a party whose VP has been supportive of the group (AIP) that would have her state become separate from the rest USA...let see the last time that was tried they also supported slavery...yeah that will be great..next thing you know we will have a confederate flag flying in Washington...yeah something to be proud of!!!”

If a prosecutorial authority brings criminal libel charges against a defendant on behalf of a plaintiff, as McCulloch and Joyce are threatening to do, then the prosecutor has to prove beyond a reasonable doubt to twelve out of twelve jurors that the defendant knowingly said or wrote something factually incorrect about the defendant. He would not get a conviction, but that's irrelevant. The mere need to defend oneself against the charges would create a legal bill (and effective fine) of tens of thousands of dollars.

The fact that the Obama campaign deleted this within hours of its appearance, and on a Sunday, shows that this is the October (or late September) surprise that will end Obama's candidacy. Do you mean that the suppression of free speech itself is the "surprise," or that the suppression of free speech is being used to cover up something that will end O's candidacy?
This campaign is convincing me that America is ripe for a dictatorship. It's so much like early 1930s Germany it's scary.

Governor Blunt needs to do more than issue a statement.
Governor Blunt needs to make it crystal clear that the Missouri Attorney General will begin an investigation of any public official using their office to threaten or intimidate citizens in the exercise of their First Amendment rights.

The news video of the Missouri TV newscast came out on Drudge on Friday. The statement from Missouri Governor Blunt came out on Saturday.
I have been (along with others) spreading it around FR and also sent it to everyone on my email list. Also sent the two links below to all the FOX news shows, Rush,Sean, and Glenn Beck. I did forget to send it to the great one, Mark Levin. I was sure it would get reported on, but it has not been mentioned anywhere on TV that I know of. Actually with the bailout on the front burner, it may not at all. Who knows! I just hope folks keep sending it out to everyone on their mailing list....even Obama supporters!
