I really don’t get the whole argument that we’ve taken our eyes off the ball. What, do they expect us to put a half a million troops in the mountains of Pakistan? Did they expect us to invade Afghanistan and then say, “Well, that’s all taken care of.”?

I liked the one where he said that he contacted the Secretary of the Treasury to make sure that he knew about the severity of the financial crisis.

Cheers

Yes that’s exactly what they wanted us to do. They wanted us to invade Afghanistan after 9/11, but, they wanted our military action limited to catching Bin Laden. I think Obama mentioned Bin Laden about 8 times tonight. They wanted us to only go to Afghanistan, and not follow Al Qaeda if they turned up in other places.

So true.

Afghanistan and especially the Taliban was the FIRST country that America made pay for 9/11.

Then we trusted NATO to do a decent job. Last I checked the Germans aren’t even allowed to shoot their weapons.

Anytime America isn’t in charge of the military, there are problems.

Roosevelt had many public works projects that bought up existing housing, eventually demolished it, and then put a highway thru, or public housing, or a monument to some senator’s mommy whose vote he needed. There were also pilot public housing projects. And people engineering projects.

And he had a great program for housing the Japanese.

Sen McCain: Senator Obama is the chairperson of a committee that oversights NATO that’s in Afghanistan. To this day, he has never had a hearing.

Obama: (Joe Biden says I don’t have to hold a meeting...Wahhhhh....I’m calling my big brother....Wahhhhh)

OBAMA: Look, I’m very proud of my vice presidential selection, Joe Biden, who is the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and as he explains, and as John well knows, the issues of Afghanistan, the issues of Iraq, critical issues like that, don’t go through my subcommittee because they’re done as a committee as a whole.

2 important points that the talking heads missed. Obama said that he was for strong missile defense. He is on video stating that he would cut the programs by billions along with the rest of the military.

He said that 98% of Americans would receive a tax cut in his administration. Did he say Americans or American taxpayers?

Either way it is a lie. He wants the present tax cuts to expire which would raise everyone's taxes.

Since a majority of Americans pay no federal income tax what does he mean?

Does he mean that 98% of Americans that pay federal taxes would would get a cut but 2% would see an increase?

He has been a far left radical for his entire history and now we are supposed to believe that he is a sensible moderate because he had his hair styled and colored, didn't stutter and lied well?

First, Obama decried McCain's intention to develop a league of free, democratic states (which Obama doesn't believe in) saying that Russia and China were necessary to contribute in pressuring Iran, for Iran to be prevented from building nuclear weapons.

Then, Obama decried Russa as a despotic and uncooperative nation.

What's wrong with this picture? Try the syllogism.

The answer: Obama apparently thinks it is inevitable that Iran will develop nuclear weapons and free nations shouldn't work together to try to prevent them.

BTW, where in the world does Frank Luntz get his “undecided” voters???

He asked for a show of hands and people started shouting for their candidates.

Those who decided “Obama won” were spouting dem talking points. Amazing.

That whole exercise with Luntz is a waste of time.

So is Charles Krauthammer. All he did was spout conventional wisdom about underdogs not being able to lose.

Henry Kissinger believes Barack Obama misstated his views on diplomacy with US adversaries and is not happy about being mischaracterized. He says: “Senator McCain is right. I would not recommend the next President of the United States engage in talks with Iran at the Presidential level. My views on this issue are entirely compatible with the views of my friend Senator John McCain. We do not agree on everything, but we do agree that any negotiations with Iran must be geared to reality.”

Obama denied the ‘without preconditions’ statement about seeing Ahmadinejad but his website states that he would do just that and see the terrorist state leader without preconditions.

Here: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2091545/posts

And here: http://www.barackobama.com/issues/foreignpolicy/

Obama further said that Ahmadinejad is not in charge in Iran.

Hussein Lie,

” Now, we also have to recognize that this is a final verdict on eight years of failed economic policies promoted by George Bush, supported by Senator McCain, a theory that basically says that we can shred regulations and consumer protections and give more and more to the most, and somehow prosperity will trickle down.”

Truth:

-There has yet to be any negative GDP growth in two consecutive quarters under President Bush.

-Regulations were not shredded. It is exactly the opposite. Adherence to bad legistaion, Community Redevelopment Act, which mandated loans and mortgages be given to wholly unqualified individuals created the banking crisis and was defended by the likes of Dodd, Frank, Obama and numerous democrats.

-Trickle down theory has been proven. The trickle up theory of ‘Equality of Outcome’aka Community Redevelopment Act by the egalitarian left has failed.
