Perhaps an announcement so that Obama thinks he’s headed out of town, and then McCain shows up at a presser to throw his support behind the House GOP plan?

One can dream...

Damn, this may mean that McCain agreed to the House DEMs bailout plan. Sigh ...

While the debate is supposed to be centered on his strong suit, I expect him to get sandbagged by the moderator. In addition, with no “crisis” deal in place, McCain will be labeled as indecisive on appearing for the debate.

SMART MOVE

if he uses this as an opportunity to expose the Libs/ACORN/CRA and hammer Obama on his connections and socialist tendencies

Fighter pilots don’t let the grass grow under their feet. That’s his way. If we’re confused, imagine how Obama feels. And now Reid is griping that McCain did more harm than good. An excellent sign. FRegards ....

Means a deal has been reached

Can just as easily mean that there was absolutely NO hope of having an agreement reached so why not head for the debate.

All as McCain has to do is repeat the history of the home giveaway and he wins.

I think McCain won the “looking Presidential” chess match here.

Omama was whining and waiting for a phone call and McCain went to DC to solve the crisis.

Omama looks like a puppydog that McCain is dragging around behind him.

Now the debate will get twice the viewers and McCain will smoke omama.

Win, win, win for McCain.

Brilliant move!! For 2 reasons:

1. BarryO has been busy trying to keep up with McCain in dealing with the economic problems and wouldn’t have had time to do all of the studying up that he’ll need to go off-teleprompter. Also, he’s been unsure as to whether or not the debate would be on, so he’s not as sharp as he’s going to need to be.
2. McCain will go into the debate FIRED UP. He doesn’t need to study up on the issues because he know his stuff and doesn’t have to make it up or remember what he said yesterday.

Good thought. McCain should gently suggest that the topic of debate be economics. It’s what America is thinking about. “But I’d be more than glad to talk about foreign affairs now AND later.”

Why? Did McCain ever say he wasn’t going to debate?
I think he can go, spend 90 minutes at the debate and get back to DC. This entire debate thing is so dumb. If he didn’t go it would be next week, now that he’s going it will be over in two hours.
